Being a part of various internet communities has got me thinking:

Is it better to have all the little communities merge to form one large community,

or is it better to divide all the communities into their own little spheres?

Each have their own pros and cons depending. What do you feel?

I thought about that once, but come to think of it, the internet itself is the one large community.

True, but you need a means of communication to connect with others. In this case it is juventuz.com forum. If everybody were part of juventuz.com we could all connect. But not everybody is...

Doesnt this mean that a more inclusive forum would be better than just a forum for "juventus" fans? What if there were awesome Atalanta or Arsenal fans out there?

How does that work? Can we link each other to communities?

I sometimes bring something from another community to this community, Sometimes take from this one to another. Still the people are not being linked, but the information, ideas and discussions are being linked by the individuals.

You also link by something else. Here's an example:

I post, the other day on another forum we were discussing abortion. After five minutes I receive a PM,what is the other forum...etc. you know the rest.
