Who was going to save us? Your out of form argument isn't logical Andy. No one in this team looks inform if that's what you want to say. Apart from Chiellini no one is. Even Poulsen and Marchisio aren't..
So if that's your theory/case, then we should field Chiellini with maybe injured Buffon alone and keep the rest out because they look out of form.

I'm not even talking about the formation. Andy is saying that Del Piero is out of form, I asked him who's in form? He think Chiellinis and Poulsen are(Poulsen looks like anything but inform).
He then says Del Piero shouldn't start because he's not in form, but who should start? Because last time I checked 90% if not more of our players were awful/useless/terrible.
Had the team been performing but Dp sucking then I would stay quiet. But if I want to go with Andy's wave, then Chiellini should start vs 11 players.

The only players I have sympathy for are Diego, and Chiellini. I don't know why Diego is getting alot of bashing.
Rab, i've had enough of this. they just don't understand that player must play in order to gain play time, and his form back. but of course, 45 mintues in the last 4 games should do the work ( 30 mintues of that was today. Ale ran all the 30 mintues after milan's defenders cause we didn't try anything. and yet, he got himself a FK and almost score).

I agree that he should get a start soon, but still, he doesn't seem like his normal self. And if that's the way he has looked in practice for Ciro, then maybe benching Alex is the correct decision.
Many folks here won't want to admit that he looks poor, which is understandable considering the player.
I'm not saying they should. Nobody should have an automatic spot on the team, not even Del Piero. That's my point. But folks around here still think he deserves one, so I'm just pointing out he has been poor thus far.
But this is again avoiding the topic at hand, which is Del Piero. It doesn't matter if everyone else is poor because even when that was the case in the past Del Piero stepped up to save our asses. If you take your BMW and run over Balotelli in a parking lot with no witnesses, I can't go kill somebody with my car and expect to say well, Rab did it and he didn't get caught, so why is it my fault?
Del Piero isn't doing the things he normally does when he's on the pitch, nor does he look like he can do them in his current state. So perhaps Ciro is right in not playing him. It's hard to say while not being at the training grounds, but still, I'm worried about the way Alex is looking. He should get a start though from time to time.

When Del Piero came in, at least he tried shooting on goal from long range free kicks, one of them was pretty close.
I am against a team being player dependent, but at the moment lets be honest with ourselves, we have to rely on Del Piero, Buffon and Trezeguet to get us out of this mess. I say formulate a formation that involves them playing as a starting 11. Meaning we have to play with two forwards.
I am also against changing formations alot, but we have reached to a point where it doesn't really matter so I say why not try a flat 4-4-2 with Diego on the right and Giovinco on the left.
Del Piero has to start regularly in all our games starting with the up coming one. There is nothing wrong with admitting that the team cannot function well without. He is one of the best footballers in history and one the very very few players in the world who has carried a very big team for over a decade.

He looks poor. But it won't change if he doesn't get a proper run of playing time. I'm not even talking about starting. But let him play 45 a week and he'll get back in the game, the Season is over anyway, things can only become better.

In our game against Milan wasn't Diego playing on the right when Del Piero came in? He showed nothing there absolute nothing in terms of product, he did fought for evey ball possible though. We can see how good Marchisio is when played out of position. So why you want to use players out of their natural position is beyond me.
