I expected this somehow. and we will hear even more stuff. Personally, I see that they can perfectly play. One as a pure playmaker(taking the pressure of Dp a bit) the other as a pure 2nd striker (playing some magic).
:agree:

The signing of Diego will let Del Piero get back to doing what he does best, rather than him having to drop deep to get the ball and act as playmaker.

It could also help to extend Del Piero's career, as he won't have to do so much running as he has at times in the past.

I like the idea of having 2 different formations ready, but yeah ADP cannot play in the formation 4-2-3-1. I don't mind seeing him on the bench though, he can't play twice a week fulltime anymore. Ferrara has done a good job of rotating the strikers and I think ADP will get plenty of playing time

I'm just wonderin whether Ferrara is willing to let go of the goal-machine that is 4-2-3-1 to try out the formation that we all considered as a failure without DP, just because Ale is back. Instantly meaning he'd have to bench Gio and/or Camo, who both have been doing really well in the 'new' formation, or atleast playing Camo further back.

I know it would make most sense when you want to start with God, we all see it, but we aren't under the pressure Ciro is under. For some reason I'd like to see 4-2-3-1 with Del Piero being either on the left or right of Diego. He could basically fill in a 'supporting striker' role from a bit further back. He doesn't have the pace of Gio but he used to fall back a bit more anyway, in our old system, before Diego. He had to do everything, why couldn't he do it next to Diego, with less play-making duties in midfield?

Having said that.. it would probably look too much of a 4-2-2-2 that way?

Decisions decisions..

Alex is not ready 100% and Ciro wants the player too be 100% ready and willing to give everything any moment. He would be risking him which Ciro is smart enough not to do. I sure he believes in him and is waiting to give him time.

Don't play him every game only important ones because he is a big game player. ;)

Makes no sense at all for obvious reasons...
