when i was watching del piero standing over the ball i was sure he was gonna go for goal... i haven't seen him score from that distance for a long long time... i was like " roll back some years alex and put this in the back of the net"... and there it ended... i don't remember what happened for the next coupla minutes... i didn't move from where i sat... i had my mouth full of fried rice which i couldn't chew... finally it all ended with a big smile when i saw del piero do the somersault on replay...
hes one of the few players who can take a free kick in a different number of ways... watch his old videos on youtube and you'll know what i mean... long distance short distance, straight from goal, from the corner, curl it in, dip it in, fire it in, you name it and alex has done it... n i hope he continues to do it a lot of times this season...

Just found this rather interesting view of Alex in another forum.

"Let's use todays CL game as an example. Brilliantly taken free-kick by ADP, wonderful. I was very happy to see it, however I didn't ignore the multiple times he was shoved off the ball, fell over, and couldn't maitain his balance at even the slightest contact. There is a reason why Juve play with two destroyers in the middle, and that is to make up for the lack of coverage that occurs when DP is playing. DP is the pivot between the middle and supporting Trezeguet, so he needs the ball delivered to him as much as possible in non-noxious positions...that means he can't really be challenged, and he needs the space created for him. Enter Nedved, Poulson, Sisoko and Nocerino when he plays. This is the support that DP needs to do his thing, though it is becoming increasingly more evident that his slowing pace is working against him. For Juve to succeed with this formation, the destroyers need to be "on" and covering a lot of ground."

I don't know where to begin..

I don't think there will ever be a player quite like Alex again. IMO he can be benched every now and then as long as he starts every game we have in the Champions League. Not only because he obviously deserves it, but also because he's our best attacker and together with Camoranesi our best player.
I just hope Trezeguet's injury is over soon. I have had the same one myself (and so did Ibra by the way) and it can take ages if you continue to play and I am far from a professional football player, so I think it might be some time before we see Trezeguet returning to full fitness. Oh and it hurts like a bitch, so he's not just being an ass :D.
When did Trezeguet got injured???? And why is Camoranesi our best player next to Del Piero and not Nedved or Sissoko or Trezeguet or Chiellini????

hmph he skipped past a couple of defenders the same number of times that he "fell over"...and by the end of the 1st half he was at the halfway line trying to make attacking plays, so it was expected that he would be double-teamed and lose the ball

The part of love most about the post is where he says that we need 2 DM because of Del Piero? I guess it has nothing to do with our rock solid defence  (although I must say I'm starting to feel comfortable with the current back 4)

Because he is.

Trezeguet's patellar tendon is hurting and it's an injury he has had for years, but it has recently flared up again. Same thing Ibra had just last year.

These days they use tendinosis more often as in Trezeguet's case it's a semi chronic condition. Also tendinitis is an inflammation of the tendon and tendinosis often is a degeneration of the tendon rather than a simple inflammation.

Which is worse? You just confused me, I always thought I had tendinitis, at least thats what my doc said. I had some therapies, its better now but still hurts.

The funny thing is that people are still saying that Del Piero doesn't have the legs to play a 90 min game. If he managed to finish last nights game and be decisive (which might be the most physical game we will play this season) I wouldn't be worried about him alot. He knows what he's doing and he knows how to prepare for matches. He is without doubt our best forward.
