Disagree. Borriello is current top scorer in the league. And he plays for a small club. If being top scorer is not enough to be included then I don't know what is.
Boriello has been around in Serie A for ages and this is his 1st good season...u cannot expect him to be preferred instead of Alex, Gilardino and Inzaghi

I really don't take into account that he's top scorer in the league. I take in account what impact he can have on the team. What is he capable of? Is he needed? Can he make a diff? etc.

Yes you can, Inzaghi scores once every 4 months, and Borriello is the topscorer. He is preferred over Gila and Pippo because both play beyond bad in general, while he doesnt. That simple.

Football is a meritocracy, and Borriello has in good fashion shown he is to be chosen over those who do squat.

I've seen Viduka, Forlan and many others leading the top goal scorers ahead of many champions...still that doesn't mean they can be compared to others.

And as much as I dislike Pippo, you need to check your facts....he scorer pretty much unlike what you said.

2003-04 Serie A 3 goals
2004-05 Serie A 0 goals
2005-06 Serie A 11goals
2006-07 Serie A 2 goals
2007-08 Serie A 3 goals

19 goals in 5 seasons. Borriello 2007-08 - 19 goals. How will Borriello ever compete with Inzaghi...

You do know that in total he was over 12months out of the pitch due to injuries right?

What do they have to do with anything? If you score you EARN your due, Borriello is topscorer in this season, so he IS one of the best options Italy has NOW.

Gila plays crap, and you saying I need to check my facts about Pippo, well I did above, do you have anything to say to that? He deserved anything over Borriello? The guy who has scored 19 goals while in Feb Pippo scored his first goal in over a year?

You do know that 5 seasons are longer then 12 months right? Pippo in Serie for Milan for 7 years, only 2002-2003 was the ONLY season he scored good numbers. The rest? NOT GOOD ENOUGH. He scored 2 goals in 21 games last season. Any excuses for that?

Both Gila and Inaghi suck and don't deserve to a spot on the roster. Boriello is hot this season and we should all remember that its still a "what have you done for me lately" kind of business. Boriello has put in 15+ so the logical choice would be the man with the hot hand (or foot in this matter)

Well, If thats your theory in football....you score you earn, then you must be limited in Football, no disrespect though.

Trezeguet can score 20goals but still any coach would take Henry over him.

Reasons....Henry has an impact in his games, can make a difference....Good vision, high quality ball control etc.

You can have a good season and a lucky one and score over 18 goals but still you can't have your touch.

Football isn't about scoring. scoring is part of football but not everything.

As for the Stats, please enlighten me and tell me how many matches has Pippo played in each season.

We're not talking if it's good enough or not. Don't mix salt with sugar.

I'm not asking Pippo nor I want Pippo in the NT. I don't like him.

But he's one goal scorer machine, like it or not.

Well using that argument makes Pippo look even worse because scoring is the only part of his game while Borriello offers a lot more such as link-up play, flick ons, assists.
