This is daft; yes probably- to the question above- as he is doing what he feels best for Italy, and not fans of one particular player. The idea that he is in deep trouble is ludicrous, as the team is doing pretty well at the moment, even if some are failing to notice.

Should DP start?: No
Should he be on the bench?: I would, but I can understand why not to.
Well ?They r improving but still The Don has a long way to go.Italy needed a player to be sent off for them to score against Georgia.

For me it isnt abt him starting or being on the bench, its abt getting the respect he deserves.
If Donadoni wasnt convinced with Alex's abilities then why was he called anyway? Its not like Alex is a new player that needs to be tested.

Donadoni wants to make the big decisions regarding the past players in Italy. He did the same with Nesta when he benched him in the Ukraine game although he was fit to play.

took the words out of my mouth, they struggled againest both teams and won with no ease! being out played by both at times! Ukraine are nothing speacial u seen them at world cup all they do is shot from range and beat likes of tunisia and saudi lol and Geogia had a great chance to hit the lead hit post than they got red card than italy where able to take advantage, how can u say this is doing well??? :faq1: They got pumped by croatia and France and where lackluster v Lituanania and he has a already made team World Champions may i add at his disposal!

they had to cheat against tunisia

How can a player like Alex Del Piero, a man who gave everything for Italy and became one of the greatest footballers in the last decade to be treated this way?

How can a World Cup winner, holding 32years of age, be left out of this game?

Where's something called respect nowadays in football? You call Del Piero for the National team a player who helped his NT win their 4th World cup and NOT even include him on the bench against GEORGIA??? and for what? Techinal reasons?

Is that a respect for a man like Alessandro Del Piero? I wouldn't want to Imagine myself having some Italian blood and accept these kind of things. I'm not even Italian and I feel embarrassed.

What a shame, what an embarrassment for Italian Football, and fans world-wide.

Shame on you Donadoni.

They were lucky in the world cup-as much as I enjoyed it.

Some of the comments here are nothing short of idolisation.

Face the fact that DP is a very good player in Seria B, a good player in Serai A and an average player in the world game.

Lovely looking as he is, and as great a sevant to our side over the years that he has been.
