Guess most people disagree. :p

Still, IMO, Del Piero is finished and shouldn't be on the pitch more than 15 minutes each game. Attacks usually die at his feet due to his lack of speed and gets dispossessed far too quickly nowadays.

I love his free kicks though, those will always be there, it's a shame the rest is gone.

BTW, it doesn't piss me off if he plays, I understand the importance of PR and keeping blind fans happy. It'll piss me off though if we need to win and he's destroying our offensive play because of how slow he is now. Hopefully it doesn't come down to that.

He should have already retired but I'll happily admit to being wrong if he proves himself to not be a finished player.

And the past 12 years isn't enough to prove you wrong?

Agree. most of the people here are blind when it comes to DP. i love him, but the guy sucks. we missed many good players for the past 12 years just because we insisted on keeping Ale with us...i still wonder what would have happend if we let DP go and give Juan Esnaider a chance.

RETIRE!

What are you talking about dude?

In 2006-07 Season, he was the goal scoring leader of Serie B.

The next year, he was the goal scoring leader of Serie A.

2 years ago, he scored a total of 21 goals, which 5 came from Champions League.

Last year was a bad year, but he still managed to net 11 goals.

He gets shit from fans like you every single year, but still I always find him to be one of the best players on the team, year in and year out.

I really feel you are not even worth replying to.. But for the sake of il Capitano I will..

What is your definition of a finished player? If you mean a player that has finished proving everything to everyone and reached a level of excellence that is beyond any doubt, then I agree.

I won't ask you to look to 2 seasons ago. I will simply say just look at the last season. He played less than half of the season due to injury (which wasn't his fault, all players were injured last season) and still managed to excel (in comparision to the rest of the players) and come on top with 11 goals.

He might not be 25 anymore, but thats just normal. In my book, if Del Piero is physically fit he is the best bet we have at any game to win. He is a player that is astonishingly skilled, mind blowing vision, magical free kicks and a great finisher too. He might not have the speed he used to have (although he was never a fast player), but he's compensating that with immense amount of experience.

Its funny that every beginning of a season all you naggers will come out asking for del piero to retire or leave and when the shit hit the fan you come back on your knees waiting for him to pull his miracle, which he ends up pulling one game after the other.

Just be grateful that Del Piero is still part of this team, because rest assured the day he retires Juventus as a team would have lost ALOT of its fear factor.
