Cos they both don't deserve it and would be more of a liability to the team. However Totti is still Italy's most gifted player therefore it would be like shooting yourself in the foot if you don't call him up.

and why is that?
Simply because Totti is a troublemaker and never really performs and Del Piero doesn't always perform to my liking with the Azzurri. Not to mention I would want Del Piero to focus on Juventus. Everybody wants what's best for Del Piero, yet they don't understand that what's supposedly best might not actually be.

Yes, but what Lippi wants is the WC, and I can't see Italy winning it without Del Piero and Totti...

We all want Del Piero to focus on Juve, but what if he keeps on doing well, doesn't he deserve a call? your not gonna keep Del Piero in Turin or whatever just to Focus and dream about Juve at night, when he got the chance of lifting the World-Cup.....

Yes Totti is the most technically gifted Italian player since Roberto Baggio whether you like it or not.

First of all it was 1997/98 and secondly that was the only season DP did better than Totti as for the rest he was much better, even when they played together in the Euro 2000, we all know who did well and who choked.

You can't say that DP is better than Totti just cos he was better in one season which happened long time ago.

In 1996 DP only had those CL wonder goals but not much else.

And to say that DP is more technically gifted than Totti that's really a sign of being biased if you can't admit a quite obvious truth.

Actually, most people agree on that. And Cassano too.

Yes most people do but DPForLife doesn't ;)

That is something that probably pisses most people off against DP, the blind faith in his fans and denial of other better players.

If we r talking about "Technically gifted" trem then DP is way ahead of Totti, I doubt that ya will find so many football expert who deny it...

Let's try that again. Most people agree that DP is more technically gifted than Totti. Most people also agree that Cassano is more technically gifted than Totti.

There, ambiguity exterminated.

Cassano is the best technically gifted player since the young DP :D
