Dude your right. I need to fly over there and catch a game. Next season I'm gonna go on that pilgrimage.
And Torino, I found, is a beautiful and far under-appreciated town worth visiting just to hang out. (It's offers very little in the way of tourist sites and museums and monuments to visit ... it's all about hanging out among cool cafes, piazzas (piazze?!), and pedestrian-only alleyways, drinking your espresso or beer and having great food in interesting surroundings.)

Watching RAI news' highlights of last night's festivities along Via Roma also took on a whole different meaning after having been there.

And save up for a visit to the Juve Store on the very cool, pedestrian-only Via Garibaldi. ;)

I meant with the reduced capacity when the work starts in june... seeing as many season ticket holders are unable to renew their ticks as there wont be seats for them... People without season tickets dont stand much chance of getting a ticket for a game

is it possible to book tickets online?
Generally speaking, I'm not sure you'd need to - or would even want to. They are usually quite plentiful and available before games. And unlike some other sporting countries where the scheduled games and pre-sold tickets have dates that are practically written in stone, they seem a bit looser in Italy ... a lot of tickets are sold the week before.

They probably need to be less rigid about things anyway, given that games will switch to Saturdays instead of Sundays, etc., depending on CL and UEFA Cup schedules, Coppa Italia, etc. (let alone a new pope who doesn't seem very long for this earth).

Normally yes... but seeing as there were 32000 season ticket holders this season and that next season including away supporters the capacity will be 27000... it wont be easy to get ticks

Can you help in cases where one needs a ticket urgently?

With the Olympics coming in 2006, that offers some pros and cons for the next season.

The pros? There are going to be a lot more facilities to handle the incoming tourists for the Olympics, and that may result in a pretty good supply of accommodations, etc. When I was in Torino this time last year, there were already some new hotels that were built up - e.g., I was in a brand new, two-star hotel not far from the delle Alpi with a massive amount of space (you could have fit 6 people comfortably) for only 90 Euro a night.

I only imagine that with the Olympics approaching, there will be more opening up to cash in on the Olympic rush. Which may mean that many of them will represent an oversupply relative to the visitors who come on the shoulder seasons of the Olympic Games. Likely meaning a lot of promotions, etc., and good deals.

Meanwhile, the transportation in and around the city should also be improved for the Olympics... the linkup of the main train station to Piazza Castello, etc., being examples.

The bad news is that you may want to avoid going around the time of the Olympics if you know what's good for your pocketbook. ;)
Well it would be pretty cool to attend a match during the Olympics and then perhaps seeing a hockey match the same weekend. Lots of possibilities, however yeah it's gonna be expensive.

Whoah, Paul. Thanks for that info -- I hadn't realized that the construction was going to result in a temporary shortage that big (eventhough I expected some seat reductions during construction). I will definitely make good use of this info.

What will Juve do with sellouts?!

More importantly, what will we do with the revenue shortfall for those two years? :frown:

Due to financial reasons like most of us I have only been able to watch the Milan - Juve CL final, thus missing school :cheesy: I do hope if I can further my studies in the UK I can watch Juventus more often
