How do I make bladck bars disappear from blu ray movies on my TV? (1 Viewer)

i watching matrix trilogy and bourne trilogy blu rays, but when it doesn't become full screen on my lcd hd tv and instead those ugly black bars on top and bottom appear.

is there anyway i can make it full screen?

i watching them on my ps3 by the way. the movies are imported from uk if that matters ( i think not since they are region free)

They're shot that way dude, meaning their shot for the cinema and their big screens. If you want, find some settings like zoom and/or Pan & Scan on your TV or PS3, which zoom in centrally on the film and cut out some stuff from the sides to fill the whole screen.
