All of them are pretty good. I don't think you'd make a wrong decision.

For the past couple of years, I've been a fan of the iRiver line myself... solid quality, the best Windows compatability, and without the advertising $ premium that comes baked into the Apple price tag.

i did some extensive market research before deciding to by a 20 gig ipod. i would not recommend the creative. its big and bukly, the sound quality isn't too great and the looks are nowhere close to the ipods. as swag said iriver is quite good, but seeing as it only has 5gb storage i wouldn't really recommend it, unless ofcourse that is sufficient for u. colour screen is quite kewl, but is there really a point of having one?

whatever u do, dont compromise and go for a mini ipod, cos those are pocket sized bags of shite. not worth ur money

Ipod: Looks the best one 20GB is supper, but the only thing I don't like is the battery problem, but it seems I can give the company to fix it then if the battery dies..

Iriver:seems the most expensive and only 5GB,it's enough for me,but if you compare with the others it's pretty expensive.and I never heard anything bad about Iriver, what about the battery?is it replaceable?

Creative:I heard that Creative has the best sound, and it's 40GB  I really don't care that much about the look,it's isn't that bad.

and the weird vertical touchpad thing is also rather annoying (not being biased toward the ipod because i own one, out of the three i just find it the best :p )

Even here in Singapore (Creative company is from here), people still prefer iPod or iRiver. So my advice, stay away from Creative, I heard it's not very durable and very problematic.

Snoop you can get bigger than 20gb Ipods - I'm sure you can get 40Gb and 60Gb models nowadays.
I know, but they are expensive :frown:

Pembo:I think I will remove it from my list :)

I have a 20gb iPod, third one actually, and I think they work great. And if you ever break it (or the battery gets old) you can take it to a Mac store and get it replaced, if youre still under the one year guaranty, that is. Thats why Ive had three iPods so far and I didnt have to pay anything for the last two.

It works really good and Im glad with what I bought

You should check out apple.com because they released a new $299 20GB iPod that comes with color screen (and maybe better battery life, I dont know )

What's wrong with the ipod mini? I have got one. Works great. Except for the battery life. Other than that, great.

My friend has a Song Viao or something so. 40 GBs. Seems to be good.

I bought an IRiver for my wife. The 5GB one in Black.
The reason why I bought it is because of the Napster to Go service.

14.95 a month, and you can download and transfer as many files as you want, including most of the new releases and some Napster exclusive tracks.

If you get the IRiver, though, make sure you download the new firmware for it. It makes the machine runa a lot smoother

i have that one snoop. i just got it for the same price its good though, Make sure that it has connection to the car radio so you can upload or hear the FM.

Don't worry about the battery , its up to (15 hr) Playing time and the capacity up to 400 song, i allready have 300 song on it so far :)

Good choice , the 40 GB plus its expensive its has a fault

(you can't hear the songs very clear sometimes when you upload )

mine said 9 hours when i bought it. i bet u'll have to absolutely refrain from using the scroller, putting on the backlight, or putting the music very high to achieve that.
