You're lucky you're adorable & i like you.:D Get a whey protein shake that's low carb & very little to no sugar. There are various types you can buy from many different supplement specialists. What ever you do, stay away from any products from USN, absolute shit for a huge price.

Avoid high carbs in the evening and take minimal protein intakes. Focus on training, not on the food.
This is odd, proper diet and rest is the key to success, working-out should be third on that list.

Many athletes take some sugar after the workout, instead of protein.

You will not lose muscles if you skip on some protein. Don't get sucked up in the fitness industry lies about protein and supplements :sigh: You will only spend a lot of cash for nothing.
Only sugar? I know that they are taking it, mostly to recover energy, but than you should have a proper meal with protein in it.

Also I somehow agree that supplement industry is all about selling, but than again there are some basic supplements that shouldn't be ignored, like Whey protein and Creatine---

IMO eat whatever is low on carbs, but eat. I wouldn't rely on protein shake only... when you wake up you'll be weaker and you'll be hungry.
:agree: That's the biggest mistake people are making, they take sups as a food replacement, not as an addition to their menu...

True, it always seemed odd to me, back when I was having protein shakes I would have one straight after working out and then have a proper meal 1 and a 1/2 hours later.

I agree food shouldn't be ignored. Rest? I sleep as much as I can, there's no way I'd sleep 2-3 more hours just because it's better for muscles.

Yeah. I found it very weird and I had no idea somebody would role like that but apparently if training is hard as hell then they suggest sugar intakes right after the workouts.

It's peoples choice. Of course everything is possible without those.

I'll be bigger and stronger without any of that shit, especially creatine.

The only supplement that i've taken is whey protein, never tried creatine. Anyone ever tried animal pak btw?
And what happens if you sleep less? You lose muscles?

I'm not talking like I'm ignoring sleeping, I just happen to sleep much less since I'm at uni. Back in the days I used to sleep 12 hours :D

Not as far as i know, just that proper rest is key in muscle growth. 8 hours is the "normal" sleep time, but it is affected by your own body needs aswell, some people have faster or slower recovery rates.

I feel ya, trying to work out and getting sleep time around uni is a bitch. :D

Actually I go to the gym now. Knee problem. Went to get it checked out, doc couldn't find anything wrong. So I thought I'd play it gentle, he recommended that.
Knee problems suck, probably you are just over exhausting it. Bicycling is mostly gentle on the knee, can you describe the pain?

Same as before, as if it's too "compressed". Comes and goes a lot, but if I do something like run up stairs (ah, childhood) it comes and it can stay for a day.

At the gym I exercise mostly my legs but the machines over there (skeptical as I was at first) are indeed more gentle, I don't feel pain. Softer surface or something.

In fact last week I was camping and I played some football again, on grass. Didn't really feel any pain. Could be that I would be able to jog on grass, but there isn't any.

It's not weird, it makes sense. You used most of your energy and your muscles are breaking, and you need something to stop it. Simple carbs are best, they help restore your energy and at the same time they raise insulin levels in you body which helps you deliver nutrients to you muscles, which means faster recovery and grow.

And here we disagree, I'm not saying that you can't achieve certain results without those sups. But saying how you will get bigger and stronger without creatine and calling it shit is just wrong.

I didn't but my friend did, and he is pleased. Pak is vitamins but I'm sure you know that :) However there are like 9 tabs inside one pack and that is too much IMO. Opti-men would be my choice, 3 tablets daily with meal sound much more appealing.
