Another football-italia, "Hiddink possibly joining Juve" article

Hiddink awaits Juve call
Tuesday 5 January, 2010
Guus Hiddink is no more than a phone call away from the Juventus job, according to Turin based daily Tuttosport.

The Dutch tactician has reportedly been identified as the perfect replacement for ailing rookie coach Ciro Ferrara who has now lost three games in a row in Serie A to Cagliari, Bari and Catania.

Juventus currently lie third in Serie A nine points behind League leaders Inter who they were supposed to run a lot closer after a summer of heavy spending in the transfer market.

Tuttosport understands Hiddink is on holiday until January 10, which coincidentally is the day of Juventus's all-important match against second placed Milan.

If Ferrara fails to deliver two convincing performances from the Bianconeri's next two games, starting tomorrow away to Parma, then Roberto Bettega, the club's newly installed vice-general manager is apparently almost certain to pick up the phone and call Hiddink.

Bettega is reported to have already negotiated a deal with 'Golden Guus' worth £3.5m a year should Juventus eventually fire Ferrara.

His contract would initially be for six months, but with the option to sign for another two and a half years at the end of the season.

So if we loose the next two games and all the other results don't go our we could be 15 points behind Inter. 7 behind Milan and possibly lying 6th or 7th in the table :wallbang:

At least if we hire Hiddink him now we could though highly unlikley still compete for the Scudetto.

maybe the players won't play for ferrara anymore...and they are the only one who know what to do with parma, to win to make the gap smaller, or to lose for getting ferrara out for certain. It's sounds very stupid i know but there are certain players that can't wait until ferrara will go out..

i saw diego's face in bayern's match...that face told me all about his relationship with ferrara. And ok, it would be unprofessional but what the heck were those games with bari and catania then? that is professional?

Because it is bullshit !!

Hiddink's agent have denied it many times, our people keep saying that they have faith in Ferrara and the players are coming out and saying they will have a better year this year under Ferrara.

Everything is suggesting that Ferrara gonna stay "atleast" till the end of this season, can't believe people still believe this Hiddink romours its all been created by italian media its pretty clear....

He staked his reputation on the acquisition, and even if it was merely to give us a few days of joy and hope and happiness...for that, he should be heralded as a santa claus of sorts...the magic didnt last, but it was fun whilst it did. And I for one, am not accepting defeat in this saga yet. Despite the lack of hard evidence. My main sticking point is that Scolari appears to have been OFFERED the job. Now...if we are prepared to try grab Felipe, then its not just reasonable to expect, but an obligation, for us to try sign Guus, who is a better manager, and wanted by the majority of Juve supporters.

The only problem with that is...WHy Scolari at all??? It seemed a hapless effort to solve our problems. I refuse to accept that Bettega had ANYTHING to do with that...

Some mystery remains. We have yet to hear from Hiddink. Or Bettega. Or Mark...The three star protagonists of this waking nightmare.

The media has been recycling the same old story for days now. Looks like there's really nothing new happening.

We've been hearing the same crap over and over again: If Ferrara doesn't win the next game(s) he will be replaced. Don't get your hopes up people.

Then again, if you just keep on saying it, it's bound to come true sooner or later :D

The Scolari confirmed contact was just simply idiotic. He's neither a great manager nor realistic target considering his inflated mercenary wage in Uzbekistan, so why try to sign him? It demonstrates cluelessness.

And I'm getting tired of these Hiddink rumors. If he is really on vacation, then why didn't the Tuttosport clowns reveal that earlier? Oh wait, to stir up rumors. I would wager that since nothing has really happened yet (supposedly), they just ended up claiming, "ohh, yeah, he'll probably be ready to go after the 10th, which coincides with the Milan match. Ohhh, the drama... "

Shove it up your ass, Tuttoshit.
