Zdenek Grygera
Ajax defender Zdenek Grygera has revealed The Premiership is not his preferred destination, despite reported interest from Tottenham.
Spurs and Juventus have been mentioned as possible destinations for the wantaway star, even if Grygera insists he has yet to receive any concrete offers.
The Czech's future appears increasingly likely to lie away from Amsterdam, though, with the player refusing to sign an extension to a contract which has just 12 months left to run.
Grygera concedes a move to England is not his chief objective, but were Spurs to firm up their reported interest then a number of factors could yet work in the North London club's favour.
"I know nothing specific. Tottenham is a high-quality team but England would not be my first choice, although I am not saying no," Grygera told Pravo.
"If you are choosing a club, you always consider if you know someone already there.
"Tottenham have a Dutch coach and also Edgar Davids - they would be able to understand me.
"I know from my own experience how important [Czech Republic team-mate] Tomas Galasek was when I came to Ajax."
And Grygera admits he may be forced to sit tight this summer if no attractive offers are forthcoming.
"If there is an interesting and specific offer from a club that has a good reputation in Europe, I would not be against it.
"I have one year left on my contract and I am not willing to extend it so my future will be resolved next summer at the latest."
