i read the reply by abhinav, and if you're talking about Jerez, thats quite a different story. as he pointed out, Schumi crashed into Villeneuve on purpose and got disqualified for the entire year, hardly a incident that is used to prove Schumi's greatness.
A few years ago when Mclaren were only slightly faster that Ferrari, People were crying about how Hakkinen had an unfair advantage over Shumi. Now that Ferrari is miles ahead of any other car, Shumi's Dominance is being called Exiting to watch and sheer Brilliance.

Surely the greatest sportsman should be the greatest every all rounder. I nominate Daley Thomson, Olympic decathalete. If you are the best over ten different olympic events, then you must be the greatest sportsman. He was the greatest in his event. Daley rocks!
