And 3 weeks ago, Barney Ronay called him a sunday league fat bloke player

:sergio:
His article on this game is a gem too. Says we only won because of the dirty play of Barzagli and Chiellini, and Dybala's moment of magic. Does not credit Higuain for his goal and assist once, does not mention the clear penalty on Costa by Vertonghen (who should have had 2 yellow cards), nor does he say that Kane's late chance was actually well offside. :sergio:

I wonder if it was a confidence issue. Fat people are known to be depressed and have low self control.

I like to think that Allegri stayed late for some 1 on 1 basketball sessions with Golzalo to build his self esteem and became a surrogate for the supportive father Golzao (possibly :boh:) never had. Grande mister.
We have so many fawns being nursed back to health

But he's not 'fat' by a normal person's/common man standards though
He was overweight by any standards to start the season, and appallingly so by Professional Athlete standards. IMO it's no coincidence that he had such a poor start to the season. But all the same, kudos to Higgy for working his ass off, getting back into shape and form, and tearing shit up when it matters this season. Very impressive.

I had a quick look at his Twitter feed and he compared us to a League 1 side at the start of the second half. Not worth any more energy. He's v-mad right now so all good.

With all due respect to Higs this can be a serious source of lack of confidence and self-doubt, when parents are always critical, rarely supportive. This may flare him up at difficult times of his career which is why we can go in to a mental block mode?

Well then say something nice about him for once

Yeah, one of the dumbest moves I've seen.
Have you ever had neapolitan pizza?

 I would never vent on him if I knew him personally, I'd only be supportive. Besides, I was appreciative a couple of pages ago here ;)

Tuz is a safe space to vent and de-stress :D

How as an Aussie, have I heard of Barney Ronay, and you as an Englishman haven’t? :D he writes such flowery BS most of the time. Stupid metaphors and similes and uses verbiage most people wouldn’t be caught dead using in a real conversation.

He went to Napoli because they were 100% committed to making him a god and he had spent years behind Benzema.

Napoli fell into Cavani money and had nowhere to put it.
