This is a Milchmädchenrechnung.
My main point was, Dzeko was much much cheaper (both in salary and transfer fee), better fit with Dybala and would have lasted longer. But he's only one example, there were other better options, all aspects considered. Looking at the whole picture, I don't see how you can classify this transfer as a success

Yes but Roma wasnt our rival back then, it was Napoli. Taking their best player it was devastating for them. It was more a way to make Napoli weaker.

But it turned out they got stronger :boh:
Vastly overpaying for ones best player to weaken them, instead of looking to improve yourself the best way possible, is also a false approach. Us with Dzeko for 20ish million (and a top CM for the rest of Pogba money) >>> Napoli with Higgy, but without 90M

It didnt turn out the way we wanted but imo that was the point of signing him (im not taking away anything from Higuain he was a wc striker).

It might have been the plan, but you can only judge a signing like that afterwards. And to me, looking at cost, impact and team success, it wasn't a good transfer in hindsight

This guy was not in a physical condition to play a football game tonight. No movement, no pressing, nothing. Should never even been in the squad, let alone on the field. Embarrassing.

Should be shipped out as soon as possible, his head is not in this club anymore.

Maybe Sarri should have given him some game time before now to get him ready. Might have been a sensible move given we are playing every 3 days, have a 35 year old striker, another striker carrying a yellow, an injury prone winger and Bernardeschi.

Usual Sarri not learning how to use a squad and it cost him. Don't forget Higuain scored on his first game back v Lecce then sat on the bench thereafter.

I agree. Our priority should be to get Higuain fit even if it means that this epic Dybala Ronaldo form takes a hit. Thats was when we dont do well we can blame Sarri for not properly using those players.
There is a benefit and negative to everything. The negative of Higgy not being prioritized yeasterday was that he wasnt fit. The upside is Ronaldo and Dybala have scored like madmen and have developed a great partnership.
Rugani not playing showed what will happen yesterday. MDL and Bonucci have formed a top cb partnership and now a guy that was mocked earlier this tear is being talked about as a top 5 cb.
Getting Costa some minutes and playing around with his role in the team has meant hes making an impact in other ways now.

If we are going to put every knock on Sarri we also have to look at what he accomplished by not making Higuain super fit and Rugani in form.

I would be really surprised if people would disagree that if we are to do well in CL than it requires
1.more productivity from the mids
2.Dybala and Ronaldo(our top 2 players) to be in form
3. Our defense to bee solid at the back.

I think hes done a good ob at this currently and hes doing exactly what weve been calling for. Focussing on getting a team in top form for the cl even if it hurts us a bit domestically. We are up 7 points in the league right now and dont see it becoming a race again

His brother is in MLS too. So Maybe they want to bring their parents there.
Good point. Well I really think we should keep him another year but everything looks like he almost left already... thank god we have secured Milik for just 50m plus some bonus cuz we love overpay for Napoli's players
