I've always thought that's such a weird thing to be angry about. As a man you're blessed in that you can work out and be at least somewhat attractive. An ugly girl can't really change much.

Unless you're truly on the losing end of the genetic lottery chances are working out and reducing your body fat percentage will have a pretty dramatic effect on your face. Less fat on the face = more prominent features.

And beards are fine, neckbeards are usually on the fat monstrosities you see, patchy and untrimmed and around the adams apple. A half decent trimmed beard can hide a weak chin/fat neck.
