Crespo's right. If you pay that kind of money, the least you expect is a tangible impact on games. Everyone can say Pogba influences games and he's great and all, but the fact is, the only tangible measure in football is goals.
Of course, this is purely from a football perspective. It's obvious Pogba was bought by Man Utd part because of his football talent and part because of his marketability.

but if you look at it that way, only attackers would be worth so much. Higuain had an impressive last season with 41 g&a (38g, 3a), only few other attackers were similar or better numbers wise last season. Pogba had 26 g&a (10g, 16a), only few other CMs had similar numbers (Pjanic being one of them 
) and im not sure if a CM had better numbers last season (probably not). if you compare the twos numbers, while also taking into consideration that one is a CF and the other a box to box CM, the difference isnt really high. this is all without considering age (Gerardo is in his prime, Pogba is few years away from even reaching his prime), hype (Pogba is hyped as a future balon dor winner, Higuain never had such hype in his life), potential (Pogba is a future best player in his position for years, maybe even best player if he leaves United for the right club/coach early), marketability (Pogba beats him easily hands down) and interest from top clubs (everyone wanted Pogba last 2 summers, Barca, Real, United, City, Chelsea, PSG, probably Bayern too, while we had to beat "only" PSG and Arsenal for Gerardos signature). if you put all these factors aside and look at only the performances past few seasons, then their value would be close to each other. if you then put all these things i mentioned into consideration, you get the idea why Pogba is worth more
