I honestly can't pick one.
Great, football isn't totally about statistics. Quag has had a good return for the game time he's given, but I wouldn't claim he's in the same class as Higuaín despite this season showing better numbers.

Torres has looked like an average footballer as well as producing average numbers far too many times over the last 2-3 years to be in Gonzalo's league either.

Right, I agree. But what exactly gives Higuain the right to be considered of belonging to such a high league without the numbers to support it? He had a bad season?

I haven't had the time to check the forum lately, got some time now and people are still harping on the same string? This guy isn't coming. Get over it.

And damn, Zach must have used that "Under Pellegrini...Goals per minute...He was better than Ronaldo" argument at least 2548723 times since this thread was created. Talk about being a broken record, damn [2]. :andyandbarcelona:

Torres has been a ghost of a player for the last 3 years, he still scores a few goals here and there, but he is pretty much finished as a top level striker IMO. And him scoring against some lightweights in the EL won't hide that fact.

Sky analysis: investment of 51 million needed for Higuain (transfer fee + wages for three years), while we are looking to spend 40-45 million.

I wouldn't put him near the top few strikers (Cavani, Falcao). He'd probably go in that group of 10-15 or so players just below, with the likes of Benzema, Mandžukić, Di Natale etc.

I could say the same about Higuain. At least Torres scored against Barca :p

Meh, I think they're better. Guess we'll just agree to disagree.

1. Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Cavani, Tevez, Suarez, Falcao, Aguero, Van Persie
2. Eto'o (old), Higuain, Benzema, Villa, Gomez, Di Natale, Balotelli, Rooney, Dzeko, Mandzukic, El Shaarawy, Klose, Neymar, Drogba, Llorente, Jovetic, Lewandowski, Muller, Soldado

As a long striker serving as an assist and returnbot, Higuain isnt quite doing what he's good at, yet scores a crapton of goals per minute compared to any other striker

Under pellegrini, he was played like he should, and his scoring record was absolutely amazing, despite young age, even dwarfing ronaldo.

This season, Higuain had it rough, considering the internal struggles and all. Only a man with a head up his ass can miss this.

Other seasons, Higuain goals per minute ratio, is higher then all juventus strikers combined goals per minute.

If you think Higuain isnt great, then you obviously know nothing about mourinho's real, the situation this season, and his amazing period under pellegrini and actually the first two seasons under Mou despite beeing benchplayer usually
You forgot to mention the 43% conversion rate.

Eto'o (Inter), Villa, Balotelli, Benzema, Rooney, Drogba, Lewandowski > Higuain

In fact, I'd say Higuain, Mandzkukic, Gomez, Dzeko, Soldado, Llorente, DiNatale etc would be in Tier 3.

All these numbers. Now I'm getting confused. And I'm a mortgage underwriter. I'm the last person that can afford to get confused with numbers. My day is shot. I'm going home

So Tevez, who played his last good season, 2 years ago, is higher up the list then higuain, who is younger, and has his first bad season in 5 years now ?

Not to mention how good he was under pellegrini, and how efficient under Mourinho.

Where would trezeguet be on these lists ? He was all poacher. But clearly one must be "complete" to be high on these lists
