Capello: "Gladstone in prestito al Verona"
14 01 2006

----------------------------------------------------------

Cappello confirmed that Gladstone has been loaned to Chievo Verona.

I'm not convinced by this system of loaning players. I hope he comes back at the end of the season.

But Chievo are a good side, I'm happy for him. It's better than... Catanzaro

Maybe it was decided together by Juve and Corinthians(?). The owner club maybe saw that it was useless to keep him on loan at Juve and instead thought playing minutes in Serie B would be better.

Geof, it's Hellas he's going not Chievo.

I really don't understand why we signed Gladstone to begin with. I've heard really promising things about him and yet our genius of a manager has given him all of two minutes playing time even though Thuram is struggling to an extent and Kovac is injured. People are saying that we shouldn't loan him out because that will leave us short at centre back, but we're already short there because it's as if Gladstone doesn't exist. He never plays and is hardly even on the bench. If we loan him out at least he might get to play.

we need a defender in this period to replace thuram and cana
I couldn't agree with you more but you know Juve; very stubborn when it comes to signing players in January.

Well, then you can also count on Zebina.
Great, that's wonderful. No offence meant to those two players but Gianni and Zeb aren't top knotch players in their natural positions farless centre back. They could probably do a job in the Coppa or Serie A but in the CL knockout stages?

We are getting rid of some players at the moment. Perhaps Moggi wants to bring in somebody new even it would be not typical for Moggi to bring a player in January. Normally he just buys players in summer.

That means we have no more influence over Gladstone, and that we've seen the last of him...
