When Ale left it was hard. But at least we still had Gigi.

But there'll never be any capitani like those two. At least not in a long time.

I'm sure Giorgio will make a great captain, but it's just not the same.
If Giorgio had been given time to grow by being in the spotlight if there were no Gigi or Ale, I'm sure he'd be a comparable figure

He just needs the room to lead the team

LMAO people are doubt Chiellini's captain role  Buffon as goalkeeper can't argue with referee for the most time, Del Piero is super gentle person, while Chiellini is a fighter and he does have a grinta to be Juventus' Roy Keane or Vieira, we didn't had this kind of captain for ages

We'll see.

I know he'll be a great captain, I just don't think he has the presence and stature they do.

"It will be just different"
Different how? Worse ?better ? And if we are talking about the difference then Chiellini will be better captain on the field than Dp and Buffon because like I said goalkepeers are always way to far away from the episodes and Del Piero is very humble and gentle, while Chiellini will tear referees apart on every occasion

That's something you get by leading imo
I'm not just talking about leadership.

I don't want to seem like I'm downplaying Giorgio, but compare his prestige with Ale's and Gigi's. The latter are icons of the game. That's what I mean

It's not an argument Ruski. It will be different for me, that's all.

Those two are extra special.

Again I am not talking about leadership, but how they represent us.

I understand where you're coming from, but I'm sure Giorgio will do just fine. He may not be the biggest Juventus legend ever or the best goalkeeper of all time, and it will be hard to continue after those 2, but the guy bleeds black and white, he's got this

Nedved: Gigi a loss for football

Juventus’ Pavel Nedved claims it will be 'a loss for all of football’ if Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon retires but refused to confirm Max Allegri’s position.

Buffon is expected to hang up his gloves at the end of the season, having turned 40 earlier in the season, while Allegri has been linked with the vacancy at Arsenal, despite leading Juve to a seventh straight Scudetto.

“Without Gigi, it’ll obviously be difficult. We arrived together in 2001,” the club’s Vice-President told Tutti Convocati.

“He’s a legend in world football. If he decides to retire, it’d be a big loss for all of football.

“Allegri staying? For now, I’ll say that we must enjoy these next few days because it was crazy to win seven consecutive Scudetti.

“As for myself, I’m happy here and I hope to stay on as Vice-President.”

So who takes the armband. Im pretty sure it was always going to be Marchisio but lack of playing time will have changed that now so next we have Chiellini then Barzagli if he doesnt leave and then we are kind of lost for regular starter who is worthy of the armband.

Cuadrado has maybe been here the longest. Dybala would be most likely then.

By grinta you mean beating up opponents and picking fights every single game? Roy Keane was nothing but a disgusting player and person, on and off the pitch, please don't compare Chiellini to him. Vieira wasn't any better, both were dirty players.
