As I said, and this is of course only my opinion, if you don't have a very strong relationship with that country i.e blood, such act is just undermining your country. I am not talking about the Ghanian player here, but in general. If you feel such a strong bond with that country, go play for it, don't undermine the shirt you are playing for!
The importance of a blood relation isn't the same throughout the world. In most European nations it doesn't matter one bit. If I were to move to Sweden, learn the language and settle there by gaining Swedish nationality then for all intents and purposes, I'm Swedish and no longer Dutch.

Well Erik we live in an interwined and inter-dependent world, its just politics. I sincerly doubt that the foriegn minister really "deeply regreted". Why would I want to get on the bad side of Arab countries because of an overzelous player that might not have thought about the reprecussions of his actions. Now I am not saying that the Arab objection is justified, but have the player asked himself "is there a slight possiblity that I could get my country in trouble?", he wouldnt have gone ahead with it.
Nobody should have to live their lives steering clear from doing things because it might offend someone completely random. Of course in politics, it's not quite that straight forward.

But with leaving the forums means you won't know what is happening here or who is saying anything about you, or maybe leaving the forum has another meaning on your side.

Well lets just imagine Mario Kempes waived the Soviet's Union flag after scoring his first goal against Holland in 78, could you honestly say that the Argentinian foreign minister wouldn't have appologized? It's all politics guys!
This is why it is sick and politics should be kicked out of football. What if he raised the Israeli flag? It means absolutely nothing, it wasn't meant for provocation or anything.

On the other hand, if some people thought of it as provocing, then I call for more of that!!

I meant that I'll stop posting in this greatly-moderated forum...

Because simply you want any justification to ban me because I hurt your GF called Burke...

Doubt that would've raised much fuss at all, given the lack of interest for the atrocities of the Argentine regime itself at that point. Also: European cultures are different. The waving of a Soviet flag would've caused some worry, but I seriously doubt any of it would've been said out loud...

Burke is a boy :disagree:
Well, I know, but he has a special treatment whatever he says...

That's my point...

And knowing that he's not a Juve fan, then another relationship except football is linking him with this forum...

Well maybe I wasn't clear in my post, so let me rephrase "wouldn't the foreign minister apologize to USA":D.

Putting aside all other factors of internet, media, and globalization.

herein lies our difference about this subject;)

Well perhaps thats the case when your country is highly developed and you are living a great life. But if your an african country or a third world country you can't really afford upsetting a big bloc of countries, especially if they were practically neighbours

You call for the head of hundreds of Israeli's. Surely it's alright to suggest that just maybe you should be the one to leave this life?

It's the foundation for many of today's issues.

I suppose that's true.

As if I care...

I told you before that you don't represent anybody but yourself, or maybe the healthy part of your body, if any...

The player was representing his country...

Here is the difference, my dear...

And that makes it a reason for a whole team to go to hell.
