Irritating is pretty subjective, but weakest? McNulty, as a character, exists to highlight the criticism of the police force which is so central to the story. And he´s broken for it, just like Daniels is, which is one of the main criticisms of public institutions the show has. He´s also an anti-hero, the guy who sees how the system is rotten and won´t stand for it, but who´s a crappy father, an alcoholic, and a pain in the ass. I wouldn´t call him weak.
Yes, but I meant weakest from the viewing angle, not story-wise. I get what he was supposed to represent in the show and all, but while watching it, I often found McNulty irritating and boring. I never thought a grown man could act like such a spoilt brat. It's from a personal perspective, that's all. Perhaps it was West's portrayal or the fact other characters were so good and likeable, but the character McNulty just threw me off.
Bunk and McNulty combo is unmatched in TV. And you are right about McNulty, was allways a flawed character, but mainly what you refer to was true in last season, when he got ape shit cuckoo with what he pulled and involved Lester in.
Yeah, that was the highlight for me. It was more like his personal vendetta and stubbornness rather than the usual "break some rules and get justice done".

I thought McNulty was a well written character. And West's portrayal of him made a lot of sense. It was his flaws that were the highlight for me. Bunk was crazy good too. Hell, everyone was crazy good :D

Bunk was the man. After him and Omar naturally, I also loved Stringer and Marlo(for the obvious irony between them).

I didn't read the previous pages

The season finale was intense! Better than last season's. Made up for a rather non dramatic season!
It was more a thriller than anything else. Baileys face when he pulls her out, just wooooaaah. But I don't want to spoiler poor Christina now:D

Apart from Top Gear, there's no English show that's been remotely funny or cool to watch, whether it be Ricky Gervais or whoever. I guess I don't really like English humour in general.
    Fawlty Towers
    Blackadder
    Yes Minister
    Father Ted
    Men Behaving Badly
    Red Dwarf
    The Young Ones
    Bottom

All of those are Comedy masterclasses, you should watch them all immediately.

Some of the 'old' stuff is alright. Rowan Atkinson, John Cleese and them

Just people like Ricky Gervais and that other fella with the small 'sidekick' who often dresses up as a woman, they're just trying too hard. Many of them visit Top Gear, I actually switch channels til they piss off and finish cracking 'jokes'. Bunch of idiots.
