In public schools most of that stuff happens in public, for the humiliation factor. It's up to a schools administration to control the students. If they can't and too many kids drop out, they should loose federal funding.

Well, if the public schools can't handle discrimination, then might as well find them a place where they can learn without harassment. It's pretty sad that this country, in pretty much every aspect of life, has deteriorated so much. Race issues not sorted out, financial crises, bridges collapsing, hatred for gays or people who are different... this country is in a free fall.

Exactly. I don't like the whole idea of segregating them because I love the gays. I just don't think they should have to deal with the discrimination that so many schools have a problem dealing with. I feel like they should have option to be themselves without having any repercussions.
