So let me get this straight... you've been arguing for 80 pages that gays should not adopt... yet you are for gay adoption?


And plenty of good, rational arguments have been made without any name calling, but it all ends up in the same way from the other side: comparations with pedophilia, beastiality, etc, how it is not natural, how it is against religion, etc... It is very difficult to reason when you have to explain, for example, the concept of consent over and over again.

So then how did the conservative Lincoln free the slaves or the conservative Republicans give women rights to vote. Do you know that the first black congressmen in the US were conservative Republicans not liberal Democrats.

Yes I understand but those don't apply anymore. For example there are black conservatives, do they want to return to segregation? No they are traditionalists because they want fiscal and social norms to prevail.

He freed the slaves and pushed for far more power to the federal government so I'd say no.

Lincoln was also willing to allow slavery if the south surrendered. He mainly used slavery for his own political goals.

Why bother to include Old Teste in the Bible if the stuff in it is irrelevant.

Yea new living translation is a great reader but not literal translation. Its not condoning slavery there its describing how the slave shoukd act for their faith. Remember alot if early chriatians were slaves of some sort. Also its not about relevance with the old testament its about the prophetic nature in the coming of the Messiah and how God the father started the revelation back with Abraham

That's the thing with religion, man. People pick and choose what to take literally and what was custom back in the day. Didn't Jesus say something like the most important thing is to just love God and your neighbour? If Christianity really followed that, it wouldn't be so bad but it seems more about judgement of others, hypocrisy and silly rules.

Well that depends on the Christianity you follow or dogma you choose to follow. As I have said I believe in solo scriptura and the greatest commandment Jesus gave is " LOVE THE LORD YOU GOD WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT, AND LOVE THEY NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF " believe it or not I do that first and foremost. I read his words and that is my Christianity, not that which is made if man.

Yes well with christianity just like any other religion or lifestyle people try to use it for there personal gain. Its the evil in human nature always trying to better ourselves and not others first.
