Barça's pre-season fixture list is almost decided. Frank Rijkaard's team will play nine games before the league starts the weekend of August 28.

The Barça players will be back at work in ten day's time. From July 18, they have a very busy schedule of training and friendly matches before the first official games of the year in the Spanish Super Cup. In total, Barcelona will play nine games in the build up to the new league campaign.

Things start on July 18, when the players will undergo medical examinations and physical training. On the 20th they fly to the Danish town of Aahrus, where they have two games, one against the local club, Aahrus GF, and another against a combination of Danish second division players. On non-match days, they will have two training sessions.

    Possibility of China or Japan

On the 26th, the squad returns to Barcelona, where they will have a few days to rest before flying to China or Japan, as the game on July 30 has yet to be decided. But what is already certain is that FC Barcelona will play Shenzhen Jianlibao in Macao.

    Trofeo Carranza

Back in Barcelona, the team will head straight for Cadiz, where they will play their first game of the Trofeo Carranza on August 5th and against the host club, with the second match being played the day after in a tournament Barcelona have not appeared in for 21 years.

After the Carranza, it will time to get ready for the Spanish Super Cup, with a week of training at the Camp Nou. The first leg takes places in Seville against Betis, with the return on the 20th here at the Camp Nou.

Before the league starts, Barça still has one more match. That is the Joan Gamper Trophy on August 24 against Italian club Juventus, in the 40th anniversary edition of the event.
