There should be no reason to gel for the back line and the CMs really. Allegri has defended with this shape for a good part of last year already. It's a pretty simple two banks of four defending concept. Costa has played 4-2-3-1 before as well.

In attack you have to integrate the wingers but Higuain/Dybala should have some understanding by now you'd hope.

Last game Marchisio instead of Khedira was HUGE difference for our technical level. And it wasn't just because he scored two goals, but we controlled things much easier with him there.
