Following his latest red card I'm thinking about whether or not Lippi should include Totti in his WC squad. Surely based on skill Totti's one of the best midfielders in the world and TBH quite possibly Italy's best player.

But what when you build a team around him and he takes a stupid red card in the first game and thus gets suspended? Such a thing could mean the end of Italy.

TBH in the images I saw of his red card, it didn't look all that bad and a straight red seemed harsh, but then again it's not exactly his first either.

FFS that wasn't the question.
I was referring to your questioning Lippi's decision to take him to the WC. and since he IS going to the WC, he IS going to be in the center of things, like it or not.

So if I ask you if it's wise to take him to the World Cup your answer is "he IS going to the WC, he IS going to be in the center of things, like it or not.".

I hope you see your own mistake.

it would be the most insane thing on the planet to leave totti out simply because he has his wild side.in terms of skill, there isnt any anyone in italy who comes near to this guy when he's on song..not pirlo, not cassano..not anyone.

he will be one of italy' most potent weapons at the worldcup, and possibly THE most potent one.italy's progress in the world cup will depend a lot on his form.if he peaks at the world cup, italy have a very good chance of winning the world cup.and well, you need to build your team around SOME player.you need atleast ONE player in the 11,who can be at the centre of things and who can provide the magic a team needs. In italy's case,i wouldnt be at all surprised if Lippi revolves the team around Totti.

Making other players out of position simply to get the best out of Totti, that would be stupid. But there's nothing wrong in making him the nucleus of the team where the others play around him,in their regular positions because to be honest,Totti is good enough to be the nucleus of the team.

For Italy's sake,i hope he tames down a bit.At 29,this could be his last chance to make a major impression at the world cup and i hope he doesnt miss it.

and for the record, there is no bloody way in hell that he wont go to germany.

I hope Italy can win, but their attack isnt so good. Even though they have some of the best attacking players. Its strange, but Italy cant control a game. And they cant have much posession of the ball. They seem so stressed all the time, but I hope this will get better under Lippi, so that Italy can win the WC!!

    FORZA AZURRI!

I say build the team around Pirlo, not Totti.
i dont think pirlo is all that influential.like,he cant push along a team single handedly.

as wild as totti may be,as big his discipline issues may be,he can push along a team on his own when he's on song.

Since Nigeria isn't going to be at the World Cup, I am supporting Italy by default. And despite the fact that I don't like him, (hell I probably hate the geezer), Italy needs Totti!
