EL adventure has come to an end. I'm so proud of my youngsters.


1st Qual. Round - Suduva

2nd Qual. Round - Qabala

3rd Qual. Round - Dundalk

4th Qual. Round - Mainz

So many great results here. Qabala was favorite to progress, but luckily enough, large db in FM doesn't really cover Azeri league, otherwise they would smash me. Afterwards, we drew Dundalk. N. Ireland v Rep. of Ireland. Mad games, we scored away and eliminated them. Huge upset. And then Mainz. Game of cat and mouse. Just imagine them playing Boreham Wood. Sounds about right. They literally destroyed me in both games, had 54 shots to my 7, but we kept it tight and avoided humiliating results. And we scored! Great stuff. Money earned, board must be delighted.

Season 5 recap

Complete and utter dominance in the Northern Irish football. The board wanted the title and we've embraced that challenge and did a lot more than that. We won every single domestic competition we were in, even that regional Cup. Hard to top season like this. Glentoran fell to 3rd place after magnificent run last season, we won all 4 games against them in the league + Charity Shield.
Cliftonville looked like a legit contender though, and I'm sure they want to take some things home next season. Lost both away games against them in the league, really hard team to beat with their direct passing and quick football. I even went with 4-1-4-1 in Cup final against them instead of traiditional 4-3-1-2, because I needed a DM against them... So, yeah, kudos to them for a good fight.
I played youngsters, you can see that on pics, I trusted them to deliver and they did. It sucks so bad that I can offer only 2y deals in N.Ireland, because Scottish and English (CH) teams are often interested in them and its hard to negotiate new deals...
I will probably ask the board for Professional status soon.

Linfield are the biggest club in Norn Iron, how come you picked them?

I felt like it's was the right thing to do after 3.5 seasons with Newry City. Glentoran was also an option, but they were too dominant, Linfield struggled for their standards, looked like a challenge.

Lost 1-0 1st leg in Bulgaria.

Took a lead at home, then got a red card, managed to secure ET. Then I got 2 more red cards.

So the game took a proper piss on me. Not the first time, but man, that really sucked. I felt like I was the better team and have the stats to back it up, but what can you do... What followed was probably the best run of form I've seen from my player since FM07, I believe. Jordan Stewart is playing like a GOD. Got a new playmaker on AM and new striker to partner him, and they're playing like superstars. After the L against Ludo, I drew KR in 3rd round of EL Qual. round. Won 2-0 away, 6-1 at home and then got Sparta Prague. I wasn't happy at all, to be honest. Man, Jordan completely destroyed them in Belfast, 4-0 win, 4 goals from the man himself. 2nd leg in Prague. I thought - let's score a goal and avoid any meltdowns, red cards or whatever FM has in store for us. 5-0 win, 3 goals from Stewart! Insane stuff! I will play in EL group stages. Drew Dortmund, Besiktas and Rapid Wien. Expectations? We'll probably fight for 3rd place with Rapid, but right now I could not care less because 1) We got EL money, around 2.6m and 2) WE HAVE JORDAN.
God damn it, I LOVE this game.

Whenever I see a player like that I always imagine seeing the FM scout going about, following the player for some training sessions and games and just going... 'wow, such a smart player... makes all the right decisions but just can't carry sh*t out... he's Pirlo's heir from when the ball comes to him until he releases the ball into row Z - although he aimed at Lichtsteiner.'

EL update...

We needed a win against Besiktas in the last round to progress. We had some chances, but we couldn't score. Dortmund and Besiktas are so stronger than us, but we fought well, couldn't ask for more.

Every save has different story. It's not like usual games where you know when you will meet the big Boss, how to kill it, etc.

Season 6

Well, EL part was definitely interesting, Premiership was not. Unbeaten season with 34-4-0 record. All the big guns were great - Stewart, Knox, Ashley-Seal, Singleton, Barton, and in january I added Glen McAuley who scored 23 goals in all competitions. Ashley-Seal was sick! 32 goals in the Prem, 7 in the Cup, 4 in League Cup and 10! in Europa League. Won the FA Cup, League Cup and Charity Shield as well. All in all, great season.
