I'm on PS4 but it's the first time I play the weekend league (I only started playing FUT about a week ago). I bet those packs you get are pretty sweet.
I'm mentally fucked right now. I'll lay it off for a while.
I started the year on ps4 and made october top 100 monthly and weekly before moving to xbox mid november for the legends, Del Piero is amazing 
This week cashed in on my main go to team for TOTY coming out.

Bernat - Boateng - Barzagli - Peres

Once you get past the early rounds it's where the fun begins and you get some good match ups. It's usually the first 10 games you come across cheese sweaty teams with rashfords and inaki Williams up top and they park the bus. (Imagine it is the same on PS4)

I'm so buying him, my pack lucks been horrible this year, started saving up instead. FUT champs and the rewards is good stuff from EA as I don't have time and don't bother trading anymore, although it's tough to play all 40games each week.

I don't know how you guys have so many good players (unless you were trading and making good coin).
Good players on PS4 are stupidly expensive but I see IF cards more than ever. In FIFA 16 I never saw as many expensive squads as now. I have a feeling everyone just buys coins. It kinda ruins the game

I only managed to get 16 wins the past weekend and I was already mentally fucked. I'm confident I can do better tho. And thanks for the advice

Also check squad building challenges every once a while. They release some special cards you can get on the cheap. Don't discard players by the way , you can use em in these sbcs
Yep, I'm using all my coin boosts and they've helped a great deal. I've got two 30k squads and about 80k saved. I haven't bought more players because I'm waiting for the market drop after the TOTS.
As for the SBCs, would you recommend doing the League ones? Ya know, the ones that require you to make 20 squads of a given league (I tried doing these but I realized some players were too fucking expensive due to price fixing by traders). I'll keep an eye on the SBCs you mentioned.

@B3N yeah rewards are awesome, I made 1.6m coins from rewards just this week alone. I already have a stacked team of 5m or so but had to sell ADP, will probably get him back in a week or two depending on how it goes for me. My aim for january is to qualify for the regionals, hopefully I can live up to it.
Yep fut champ prizes are great. I was actually hesitant in selling my Nedved, snapped him up about several weeks back, card was fresh out of pack, and played alota games with it, but you know the market during TOTY releases. Will buy him back when legend prices take a big hit.

That's actually the biggest problem I have with this game. It's kind of realistic, but at the same time weaker teams are too much at an advantage. I don't play FIFA much at all these days, but I did attend a FIFA tournament one of my mates had organised. We played a full WC. I was unlucky and drew the Netherlands as my team. They are obviously a very poor side, so I had no option to defend and be very cautious not to give away too much possession when I did finally get the ball.
Now I don't think I was the best FIFA player there as others played it much more. I was still poor at PK's for example. But tactics like that are so important in this game that I reached the final quite comfortably only to eventually lose it on PK's (which I didn't really know how to take).
Some might say it's realistic, but I disagree. I beat Brazil, Spain and Belgium very comfortably and they were handled by much more experienced players. Brazil with a better player should beat the Netherlands 4-0 easily imo. But the game doesn't reward attacking football at all.
Passing in general is little off in this game, that's why some prefer to park the bus and hit on the counter. Majority of them are the typical run do some tricks and then take a shot FIFA players with little imagination in build up play.
It is realistic to have park the bus and should be an option but the main problem with it comes from overall team and players AI in FIFA, regardless of any player and their attributes they seem to position and Mark perfectly the whole match when you set the tactic on, with little need of users input in controlling the backline (just switch and contain) That's why it seems such an overpowered feature.
