I noticed that I was getting easily beaten up when defending because I used the square button for tackling. Now I just hold R2 and X together and press the square button only in the right moment when the attacker is directly facing the defender. I won all 5 matches I played this afternoon this way.

Yea the standing tackle button is risky. I've just recently changed my defending style and it's been helping me out a ton.

Yeah. It always felt like I was rushing too much when I was using just that. Now the defending seems much more organized, even if sometimes it takes me more time to get the ball back to my possession.

Yup. It's important to pressure with your midfielders and leave all of your defenders deep until the opposition brings the ball within only a few yards of your box.

It's also been helping me a lot to constantly try and press the opposition wide when in my half and change my markers frequently instead of relying on the game to automatically switch players for me.

Don't know if I like this new Fifa. It seems so much slower compared to Fifa 10. One touch passing and defending is so much more difficult. Conceding so many goals with this tactical defending. It would be handy but if I'm trying to mark someone and call a player over its usually another defender instead of a midfielder. I thought tactical defending was supposed to help you keep your shape.
