Perhaps we have buyers lined up for Tiago or Poulsen, or even both...I read a rumour somewhere that we were aiming to concrete Caceres' move through sending Poulsen to barca.
Lets say just Poulsen leaves. Momo is absent with leave for January, which trims the central midfield options down to Melo, Marchiso, Tiago. NONE of whom have been in steady decent form this season. Marchiso has shone in patches, but not at all consistently, and yes I am taking his injury into account.

the big IF is IF we are going to persevere with a 3 man centrally positioned midfield. IF so, Gago or another of similar ilk, would be needed.

I could not agree more that we desperately need, above all else, reinforcements, or straight out replacements for central defence first and foremost. But the defence has been made to look worse than I truly feel it is, or could be, through the failing of our various midfield lineups.

With Camo out for a while, its even more likely we will adopt a straight 3, NOT an offensive trio. Again, this lends weight to the purchase, or loan, of a central midfielder.

Poulsen would be a move for Barca IMO. He played very well in Spain and would be fine midfield cover.

Tiago is crap, I'll take whatever we can get as long as he goes out the door

alright, about Gago. Saw him with Boca. Looked cool, calm and collected. Nice pass, mixed things a bit. With Real, didn't take the next step. Still go the talent. Maybe a move could be good for him. Wouldn't be worse than Tiago. Could be useful when players go injured or play the African Cup if on loan.

I've dropped the troublesome 'weedguru' moniker, mark...makes life easier for me, and less volatile, for the forums as a whole.

Camo is out for 2-3months while Momo will be absent for the AFC.
We need to add some depth to our CM anyway.

If Gago can take the deep lying playmaker's role, Melo could have more freedom on the pitch and maybe he can perform like what he does for Brazil NT / Fiorentina

So if this is a loan or we don't need to pay much then why not give Gago a chance.

finally someone who actually saw him at boca, he could very well turn into the next cambiasso(spain fail, italy success)
