chiellini was the wish version of himself for a long time and only became chiellini around our unbeaten season though. he was what, 27-28 at that time?

also, i wish we had a 4th or 5th cb like gatti, but in this current squad gatti is an easy starter for me. bremer, danilo, gatti, that's our best 3 cb's currently
this was a long time ago, but I always thought Chiellini was special ever since he was moved to CB back in 2007, he was pretty much a core player from that season on. also made a name for himself internationally in Euro2008, kept peak Villa-Torres silent for 120 minutes with Panucci as his CB partner.

I'd say Bonucci is the one that was transformed the most in that Conte season, went from a Rugani career trajectory to part of a legendary defense

Bonucci was great for us in Allegris time here and before he joined Milan. Before Allegri he was much more shaky and error prone. We thought he can only play in a 352 with Chiellini and Barzagli protecting him, and that he played only because of his playmaking. But he really took a step forward in that 4312 in Allegris first year

He looks solid if he can defend with his body in a 1o1 everything else he’s an amateur at. Should never be playing for a club like juve

You can see in Gatti the background he comes from, where his football grounding is. He doesn't have that top level coaching at an early age but the way he is mentally I wouldn't bet against him being very good in the right system in 2-3 years.
This.

Still liking the guy, but he can't be the solution for our starting 11.
