Its just silly to hate a player who is likely to be a major part of our defence this season. Its a case of putting whats best for the club before personal feelings. The success of Juventus is more important to me than my despair for Molinaro's inclusion in our squad...And Cannavaro is clearly able to improve our defence. With Ariuado still learning his trade, and Legro totally reliant on Chiellini to perform anywhere near the standard we expect from a Juve centreback, it made sense to bring someone in.

The only event in which I would be feeling something similar to the anti-canna brigade is if Rafa Benitez became our manager...such is my contempt and seeting rancour for the man, that it would make following Juve a bitter experience, whether we were to win or lose...so I guess i can sympathize, but not agree with, the venom Cannavaro inspires.

When he left us, I understood that he wanted to play for another top team whilst he was still performing at perhaps ahigher level than any other centreback in the game. He is not the same player now, but he brings experience, leadership and familiarity. Ciro won't play him if Ariuado or Legro are looking better. So why worry?

I used to like Cannavaro alot. I used to respect him alot even prior to his Juventus Career. When he joined Inter I was upset that we did not sign him but I still liked him. Ooh and when we did sign him I was so happy because for me he was THE DEFENDER. He proved that well in the two seasons he played for us.
When the calciopoli hit the Calcio he declared that he is staying with us, so did Zambrotta. Both of them left.
Now them leaving had three possibilities:
1- They did not want to stay in a sinking ship.
2- The club needed the money and sent them against their will
3- Abit of both, we needed the money but if they really wanted to stay we would have kept them.

I think both fall at the 3rd choice.

Mutu's situation was different. He wanted to stay but the club wanted to offload him to gain money. Ofcourse he wouldn't say no if the club wanted that.
Ibra was clear, he did not want to stay at Juve and never said he is staying and honestly speaking I did not expect him to stay.
Thuram (I cannot remember what did he declare), I hated him because he said bad things about Juve when he was in barcelona.

For me, I did not expect Cannavaro and Ibrahimovic to stay since they just played for Juve for 2 years and did not get the full Juve experience yet. While players like Zamborotta, Thuram and Mutu I expected them to stay whether for the years they have played with us or for the surviving (mutu) their football career.

But then again, those are all footballers and this is their bread and butter. So if all of them came out straight saying we won't stay I wouldn't be pretty upset BUT to say you are staying and show off how loyal you are and then take the first boat out, now this I do not respect.

Cannavaro is back, I am kind of pleased but that doesn't mean I like him now.
I believe that Cannavaro will do well with us. The way our defense looked in the last 1/3 of the season was a big joke. Adding Cannavaro will definitely improve things, especially since he was for free.
If he excels I will like him, but I will never respect him the way I used to.

And I seriously doubt the addition of Cannavaro will be a major improvement for the defense. Perhaps a little, but it won't solve any problems back there in the long run if he is indeed the main partner back there. He's been past it for at least two years.

We are agreed on this point, teeth.

And I concur that he will not offer a major improvement, but none of us know what kind of effect his experience value will have on the rest of our defence...even molinaro may improve. Zebina, I have high hopes for this season, as i do believe him capable of becoming a valuable force on the right flank.

its annoying to see Maxwell head to Barca for such a small fee, but on the positive side, at least De Ceglie is likely to get the chance to play and improve in ourt first team this season.

Cannavaro is no messiah, but he knows how to defend, how to marshall a backline...and we have been lacking that leadership in recent seasons. Chiellini is quality, still rough around the edges, but potentially a true great. However, he doesnt strike me as the greatest organizer. His talents show themselves solely in his game. Though his presence alone does seem enough to improve legro.

I agree with you, whoever I dont agree with the fans that go to the training to scream against him, not becouse I dont agree with them but becouse they could affect the team's morale and focus.

The guy is alredy in Juve and he is not leaving at least not until January, so, we migth as well hope he can play good and support the team

Besides selling Ibra for peanuts,selling Mutu to get Bojinov was one of the worst transfer deals the new management made.Honestly Mutu would have gladly stayed with the club & would have given far more than Boji did.Ultimately Juventus revived his career & it was so stupid to let him shine for a rival team.

Could you just imagine how hot our attack would look with Mutu & Ibra had they satyed?Not taking anything way from Iaquinta & Amauri but i would rather have had those two in the team if given the choice.

Boji was just a loan deal to be a sub in serie B, Juve never intended to buy him.

Edit: Actually I remember Mutu saying he didn't want to stay when the calciopoli hit the club, once he transferred to Fiorentina.
