It doesn't for a club like Juventus that recently made two CL finals.

We're not Roma or Lazio trying to get recognition in Europe by winning a second rate trophy. Let's be honest, it's a loser's cup. It's what it essentially is. You get embarrassed in the CL group stages, but still you have this chance to win this tinpot trophy. That says it all about this format.

One more thing: this season, it would hurt a lot more seeing Milan win EL, than them winning Scudetto.
