Super Dortmund went out, thoughts?
Conceded two stupid goals and threw everything on Sevilla who kept throwing defenders and falling down .While Palop was wasting time since about the 50th minute when Dortmund scored.

But Dortmund's lack of forward alternatives finally cost them. Barrios wasn't having the best of days, and there was no to effectively take his place and lead the lines.

What a joke that German teams will overtake the Italians because of the lowly EL when germany has only made one CL semi in the last 8 years (which they accomplished through an offside goal against Fiorentina)

It shows nothing on an overall level, but you have to play by the rules. If that's the fucked up rules then Italian teams have to do something in the EL. Can't see it ever happening. Italy will be stuck behind Germany for many, many years, unless UEFA revamp the EL, more money etc.

It isn't a joke, those are the rules. The fans that are happy to be out of the EL will complain when UEFA takes away more spots from Serie A.
Precisely, the rules are a joke

How can a lowly EL game be worth as much as a CL game in terms of UEFA points?

It's a ridiculous joke

It's like saying winning the Armenian League is worth as much as winning the Italian league.

It's UEFA's attempt to make the tournament important. Has it improved the level of this competition?

Oh yeah, last years winners went out at the group stage today...

In CL the teams get bonus points.

Just by qualifying for the CL groups teams get 4 points. Qualifying for the EL groups brings 0 points.
Passing the CL groups brings 5 additional bonus points. Passing the EL groups brings 0 additional points.
Passing the 1st knock-out round in CL brings 1 bonus pt. Passing the 1/8 finals in EL doesn't bring bonus points.

So, a team that makes the CL quarters gets 10 bonus points and a team that makes the EL quarters doesn't get any bonus points. 10 points equal 5 wins (a win gets 2 pts to the team).

Btw, if we count only CL for the last 5 years (including the current one) then :
Germany 15.33 + 18.16 + 10.00+ 9.33+ 11.00 = 64.26
Italy 12.00 + 19.75+ 12.87+ 13.375+14.125 = 72.12

Italians are better. Obviously the EL makes the whole difference.
