The following is a genuine article from the Spanish press after Rangers' trip to Barcelona.

"Dear Rangers supporters- never come back to Barcelona again. And not because your players themselves aren't a legitimate team. No, it's not because of that- the Nou Camp frequently hosts teams who are lazy, boring, who only defend, who run and kick their opponents, and who shouldn't be in elite competition. On top of this, Rangers merely defend, run at the opposition and play dirty. Their defenders are butchers, their midfielders, heavy-footed; and their strikers just stand there like the furniture.

But even apart from the footballing aspect, the best thing would be for Rangers never to return to Barcelona , because every time they do, they make a mess of the place. 35 years ago, you (the Rangers supporters) destroyed the seats at the Nou Camp. This time we have enjoyed no less than 48 hours of brawls, provocation, rackets, fights and common drunk women throughout the whole city, which you have fouled however you pleased.

Stay at home and vomit in your own living-room, urinate in your sitting-room corners, fight with your neighbours, the Celtic supporters (who deserve a prize just for putting up with you) and foul the streets of Glasgow instead. Don't come back here again, because it is not a laughing matter. And, by extension, don't play in the Champions' League either. You are not at that level neither in a sporting nor human sense.

There are noisy groups of supporters who, although they drink vast amounts of beer, make friends at the same time. But you? Not you, because everywhere you go, you turn into a rubbish tip. You are undesirables. And so are those who fraudulently sell, or "rent out" their tickets. These people screw Barca over, because they trade their season tickets illegally. And in doing this they cause massive annoyance for other members of the club. A true Barcelona fan would not re-sell their ticket for the match. If you are not going to the match, give it to a family member, or you could even use the 'Seient Lliure' service (an automated ticket service used by some Spanish clubs including Barcelona ).

From now on, the responsibility lies with UEFA and the club itself to ensure who the ticket is sold to. The best thing for all of us would be that you as a supporter, in a moment of lucidity, decide not to travel if you do not have tickets. As that is never going to happen, those who sell the tickets illegally must be brought to justice. But the best thing would be if we never had to play Rangers again.

come on apparently 20,000 fans travelled to Barcelona and the British press has been praising their behaviour. Not many teams other than Celtic would bring that many fans to an away european game.

I think the Barca press are just upset because for 2days the town was taken over and that Walter Smith's teams are always difficult to play against, so they couldn't see the flowing football of barca.

not optimistic in barca winning at lyon tonight for 3 reasons , barca will play knowing that even if they loose they will still top the group if they win in the next game and the second reason lyon need the win more than barca to ensure they can progress to the second round and third barca think of espaniol match next saturday.

still see barca winning, lyon aint anywhere near the level they were at.
see sevilla getting a draw at least against arsenal tonight and slavia going down in bucharest

rangers i see struggling tonight, apart from the lyon game they are notoriously bad travellers and stuttgart will be going all guns blazing to ensure they do not end up with 0 points from this campaign

Cruz picked, Mancini dropped

Julio Cruz has been picked to partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic against Fenerbahce, while Amantino Mancini is on the bench in Kiev.

Inter know a victory this evening will see them through to the next round of the Champions League, but are without the injured Luis Figo, Patrick Vieira.

Dejan Stankovic is back from his injury and Cristian Chivu is pushed up to a midfield role, leaving Maxwell at left-back.

Cruz is chosen to partner Ibrahimovic upfront, leaving Hernan Crespo and David Suazo on the bench. Marco Materazzi is also on the bench despite playing just five minutes since returning from three months out with a serious thigh problem.

It is a tricky game, as Inter lost 1-0 away to Fenerbahce in the opening round of this group.

Roma have made the trip to Kiev without injured stars Francesco Totti, Philippe Mexes, Simone Perrotta, Alberto Aquilani and Marco Andreolli.

However, Rodrigo Taddei makes his comeback and is in the starting XI, but surprisingly Mancini has been dropped after a series of disappointing performances.

Marco Cassetti is given a more advanced role in the trident supporting Mirko Vucinic along with Ludovic Giuly.

They beat Dynamo 2-0 at the Olimpico in Matchday 1, but neither scorers Totti or Perrotta will be present this evening.

The Ukrainian outfit are without striker Kleber, defenders Rodrigo and Pape Diakhate as well as goalkeeper Olexander Shovkovskii.

Roma would qualify today with a victory or even a draw if Sporting Lisbon failed to defeat Manchester United.

Inter: Julio Cesar; Maicon, Samuel, Cordoba, Maxwell; Zanetti, Cambiasso, Chivu, Stankovic; Ibrahimovic, Cruz

Inter bench: Orlandoni, Jimenez, Dacourt, Crespo, Solari, Materazzi, Suazo

Fenerbahce: Volkan Demirel; Gokhan Gonul, Lugano, Edu, Roberto Carlos; Aurelio; Selcuk Sahin, Alex, Gokcek Vederson; Deivid, Semih Senturk

Fenerbahce bench: Volkan Babacan, Appiah, Yasim Cakmak, Kazim Kazim, Tumer Metin, Bilgin, Onder Turaci

Dynamo Kiev: Rybka; Dopilka, Gavrancic, Vaschuk, Nesmachniy; Ghioane; Gusev, Ninkovic, Rotan; Rincon; Bangoura

Dynamo bench: Lutsenko, Fedorov, Belkevich, Shatskikh, Kravets, Milevskiy, Markovic

Roma: Doni; Panucci, Juan, Ferrari, Tonetto; De Rossi, Pizarro; Taddei, Giuly, Cassetti; Vucinic

Roma bench: Curci, Cicinho, Antunes, Esposito, Pit, Barusso, Mancini
