I truly hope that Milan smash Liverpool in to piece of shits, so that I won't have to hear bunch of idiots claiming this bunch of crap Liverpool teams would rank ahead of all time greats such as the late 80s Milan or mid 90s Juve.

Any sane person would know a team of Crouch, Kyut, Mascherano, Carragher, Agger, Riise, Gerrard, Pennant, Aurelio, Reina, Bellamy, Sissoko, Finnan etc, are no world beaters whatever you see it. CL should be ashamed of devising a format that rewards mediocrity at the expense of greatness. That rewards 3-4 place rather than finishing first in domestic league. And that hypes average players to a status of greatness. Neither Milan or Liverpool should be at the final, but at least I will take solace in watching great Paolo Maldini lifting the cup than decent but nothing exceptional Carragher.

I just placed my bet on the result. 4-0 for Milan
I placed mine as 3-0 HT correct score. :agree:

How are you? Been a long time since I logged in to this place. I tried searching for a long (painful) post I remember writing the day after Istanbul - but it has now been cut from the forum :D.

I also remember how we argued over Maradona's wise words over that night. Ah well tomorrow Milan has the chance to set the record straight.

BTW the Paddy Crerand article about Milan and harping back to the sixties made my train journey so much easier yesterday - silly old fool.

Maybe this was posted on the forums elsewhere when it was a news story (and I aplogise if it was) but Valdano's words after the Liverpool SF triumph over Chelsea were the most accurate of modern day football and it's problems I've heard for some time. Especially considering he was speaking as a pure neutral. Anyone who reads that article cannot want Liverpool to win tomorrow. Anyway here it is in all its glory:

I understand why Benitez would have distrust for talent, since no one would recognize a collect group of Crouch, Bellamy, Kyut, as next coming of Pele, Jairzinho & Garrincha. He had limited funds to work with, and you can understand why he took muscle and organization instead of class and that extra technical touch. I mean, not all teams, have the pleasure of buying Figo, Zizou, Higuain, Van Nisterlooy, Carlos, Robinho, Canna, Samuel, etc like Valdano's Real do. And if anything last couple of years taught us that the balance is critical to any enjoyable game of soccer. You can play good game if players like Zizou has to run 30-40 yards to win a ball: players are Makele are also vital part of making game flow and enabling best playes express themselves. Nor I want to see attacking player flourish because an opposition defender doesnt know how to to keep the line and make a tackle to save his life. But Valdano is totally right in pointing out that the shit was shown in last CL match. And he is also right that such shits are called a game of passion if played by English opposition, and they become tactical if they are played by an Italian counterpart. And he is totally right that too much emphasis is placed on tactical scheme, which focus on stifling individual talent, rather than complementing them like Milan and Manchester do.

Those are my thoughts exactly, Jun. Although I do have respect for Liverpool, it sucks to have these friggin clubs in the final again... pisses me off.

I would SO love it if Liverpool are up by 3-0 at Half Time, and then Milan score 3 goals in the 2nd half, and then win the match in the last minute of Extra Time. After the match Maldini can say "During the Half Time break we heard Liverpool celebrating as if they had already won the match"

If you type the words 'AC Milan', 'Liverpool' and 'revenge' into the Google search engine, you receive 240,000 entries.

I hope no revenge will be there though. Benitez, please do it again...
