Bayern has really improved and could be able to beat us for first place in the group. With Ismael, Karimi and Lahm (when fit) they have really improved over last year.
well, in the game in Munich last year it was gigi who saved us several times... Bayern is strong again this year, but I think we will be strong too this year. I think the team is improving..

I think that it is how good you are, and how good we are on any given day. We could win both, and you could win both.

But, I think we are stronger, but Lahm will not be back until late January or early February.

From the BBC:-

Inter to ask for switch to Ibrox

Inter Milan are to ask Uefa if they can switch their Champions League home tie against Rangers to Ibrox instead of an empty San Siro Stadium next month.

The Italians must play their first four European home games behind closed doors after crowd trouble marred their match against AC Milan last season.

Inter are to ask if they can play in Scotland or at a neutral venue.

Rangers boss Alex McLeish said: "It strikes me as horrendous that we will have to play in an empty stadium."

Inter were punished after fans threw missiles on to the San Siro pitch during last term's quarter-final second leg tie with Milan.

"It will be an eerie atmosphere and it might be hard to adjust to that so we will really have to think about this," said McLeish.

We could have been handed an easier draw, but we could have suffered a tougher one
Rangers manager Alex McLeish

"I certainly never played in any completely empty stadiums in my time."

True that any team can win any game, and I agree that Bayern has strengthened their squad from last year. And another thing I mentioned earlier that Bayern played against Chelsea last year much better than many other teams, so clearly they were in constant improvement.

To be honest, our primavera squad could kill them. They have a young and talented team, but a very small squad. With so many games to come, their squad won't be big enough.
They have a very good goalie´with Helge Payer, but IMO a too weak defense. Same goes to the attack, where Thuram and Cannavaro should have an easy day with players like Lawaree, Kincl and Akagündüz.
Their only good dpartment is the midfield. Hofmann and Ivanschitz are very young and quick playmakers who like to rotate, but they are very unexperienced. Vieira and Emo should close them down easily.

So Jeeks, we should take 6 points out of this 2 games. Although the crowd in Vienna will be mad. The Rapid fans are known to be the best in Austria and just take a look at thei wonderful pre game show on www.ultrasrapid.at
Maybe we will have problems with such a crowd, but I really doubt it.
I agree with Lacki. But as 1996 showed Rapid can be pushed by their great supporters to get a draw in Vienna. In Torino they will get their ass kicked, but at home it is quite possible that Juve will underestimate Rapid.

@ Lacki: Can't believe what teams are going to come to Vienna :)
Munich and espescially Juve are mustsees. The problem is I guess all tickets will be sold as packages. So if you wanna see Juve you have to buy all tickets, prize ranges from 75 € to 120 €.

I have something to add to my posting:

Michael Konsel played one of his best game for Rapid that day. He saved probably up to 6 shots from Alen Boksic. Who said after the game he had never played a better goalkeeper :)
Maybe some of you will remember him due to his time at AS Roma.
