they have lots of problems in defence.
They'll be fine as long as they can retain posession and keep opposing attacks to a minimum.

But once they get some quality attacking teams, expect a high scoring match.Puyol - Marquez is fine but they really need a couple of full-backs who can actually defend.

I'm going to see Anderlecht-Betis tonight. I'm very excited, this is maybe the only match that the Brussels boys could win this season in CL...

Fenerbahce - PSV = 3-0 Appiah scored the last one :cheesy:

Just like I predicted before the season began,Fenerbahce will surprise us all, first they missed the draw in last five minutes against Milan, now they beat PSV 3-0 ,and more to come..

I remember some fools were laughing at my post when I said they will surprise us then..

Fenerbace showed a great spirit, but the surprise of the evening is in Portugal where Porto got defeated by ArtMedia

Liverpool - Chelsea was more exciting than I expected, but I still think that Liverpool deserved to win.

I never said Chelsea played better. I just don't like Liverpool TBH, I prefer Chelsea anytime anyday.
I never said you did. I just told you what I saw in the game.

Me and the statistics along with the commentators and reports say otherwise. But then again, I won't argue with you. You say whatever you want.

I really don't give a sh!t what commentators say. Tho here he said Chelsea was a better side for playing away in this way.

I don't know why you don't wanna argue here. But hey, not a big deal, I guess.

Liverpool were not give TWO penalties, one foul in the first half on Alondo and the second a hands situation by Gallas clearing a freekick. Chelsea made chances, but Liverpool were more dangerous. Liverpool from the end of the first half up till the referee whistled were driving the game play the way they wanted. Drogba almost scored an own goal and not to forget Cech's miraculous saves.

Then about what I said, only the Romanian commentators disagree with the Swedish ones, but still the statistics and the match reports say that Liverpool was the better side.

I was seated in the second row, right behind one of the goals and I didn't get to see the match that well so I won't try to analyze it, but here are my impressions.

Coupet. Basically unemployed. Very few shots fired in his direction and he's a commanding presence the whole time. Missed one cross but it ended well.

Reveillere. He did his job well enough, not even a moment of doubt. But he didn't really get involved offensively as he often does.

Berthod. I liked him a lot, he tied up some loose ends in midfield with important interventions and he played well in his position.

Cacapa. Not very active today, basically no one-on-one's with strikers, he was protected admirably by the midfield.

Cris. Just as good defensively (he too was not involved too much), but obviously props for scoring and for being a real threat to the opposition.

Diarra. He's excellent, tall, strong and doesn't set a foot wrong. Players are hanging onto him yet he keeps running. Lots of important interventions today and he was in full control of the midfield.

Tiago. Less commanding than Diarra, but did quite alright.

Juninho. Not terribly impressed with him. He was dangerous as always on set pieces but in midfield he lacked ideas and didn't make a lot of important passes. I expected him to be more of a playmaker, but he was just passing it around.

Malouda. I always look forward to seeing him and he rarely lets me down. I think he's easily the most skilled on this team and even double teamed he's dangerous. He succeeded a lot tonight and without him Lyon's offence would have been far less potent.

Govou. He didn't have a good match today. Did not get into a scoring position and was overpowered on the right wing. I've seen him play phenomenally, today he was fairly mediocre.

Carew. Obviously tall as a lighthouse and wins 99% of all headers but he barely had any chances because he's too slow when receiving the ball. It should be said that playing up front isolated like he is, he's marked too well to be a consistent threat, he needs support. Quite a few times he was in possession but did not get a shot fired and the chance was wasted. Not a very good game but it's not all his fault.

On the whole, Lyon played very well most of the time, they were barely threatened at all and they could have scored once or twice more. What I didn't like was the last 20 minutes as they just sat back and defended the 3 points. With talent like Wiltord and Fred on the bench, I would have liked them to try harder (given that a one goal advantage isn't a whole lot). But I'm satisfied.

My only regret of the evening was watching pool - chelski on tape delay which was a complete waste of time as usual.

Not sure about the Alonso's Penalty....But the second one with Gallas hands should had been a Penalty....The thing is that Liverpool were playing Home, infront of their fans So I expected a better performance from them, Sure Chelsea wasn't better either, But a draw is really good for them, don't know If you agree here.....I think Liverpool will be hammered by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

I didn't say what was the better outcome of the game. Definitely Chelsea were the ones who gained from it. Liverpool lost the points at their home ground. I do agree that Chelsea will win the return game, but you never know in football. About being hammered, it is something I don't agree with as Liverpool is a side that is well balanced defensively.
