Milan are having their way at Old Trafford. The best chances have fallen to Man United, to Scholes and Fortune to be specific, but Milan have dominated possession and are holding the ball very well. As Andy said, the key to shutting down Manure is keeping Ronaldo and Giggs out of the game and Milan have done that very well by retaining possession. Rooney hasn't done shit, neither has Kaka though. Pirlo is such a presence in midfield and Cafu is having one of his better games. Milan came closest to scoring through Seedorf whose free kick clipped the crossbar. Rooney upfront on his own isn't working, it's Van Nistelrooy time.

Of course, not against sound defensive teams like Chelsea. Defense wins championships.
Not just defence though, you need to have a good balance. Chelsea and Milan have that balance. What Juve lack in attack Barca lack in defence.

Giggs has not really done anything out there, while Ronaldo seems to be threatening. If Milan can continue to keep posession they might be able to get an away goal, probably off of a Pirlo free-kick or mistake by Wes Brown. I like how Pirlo is controlling the match in the middle of the pitch and being such a presence; brilliant player.

Very true, concerning balance and comparing Juve and Barca

What I am talking about is would I rather have a team like Barca who can attack all day, or have a team like Chelsea who can soak up pressure and be efficient in attack. I would take the latter.

Capello tried to do the latter but step by step his plan is failing

Ronaldo has been good in patches but Man Utd haven't seen enough of the ball to really get their attacking players as involved as they would've liked.

Pirlo is a class player. I love how he's decided that he's going to grab this game by the scruff of its neck and control the proceedings. He's always available and distributes the ball so well. Those are two areas where most of our players struggle. I find that very few of them make themselves available to receive a pass like Pirlo does. Pirlo makes it easy for his teammates by being a constant outlet.

I agree, I was just saying that you can't go to the extreme where you rely on your defence the way Juve does.

Yep. He got the defending part right but we're far too inefficient and predictable in attack.
