He played really well today actually. I'm still not happy with him starting though, as he is extremely inconsistent and is too lightweight to be playing as a CM in the EPL.

Problem is that he always starts when fit regardless of his form, he comes off as just a player who recieves and gives, and more often than not the short-side ways passes. But still excellent technique on the free-kick.
It's not about being italian, its style they use, same style that fails in Europe. Im pretty sure Mancici wont use it in England. Dunno if is going to flop but its not like Mourinho is doing much better with Inter.

His style is different though. But it's not always about the coach's style as much as it being the league. Look at Ancelotti, the different teams he managed all had different styles and he has Chelsea playing the kind of football you wouldn't see in Italy. It's just the managers have to adapt their teams to Serie A and when it comes to Europe they can't play with the necessary tempo to be successful.

Watching your toothless center striker position with zero physical presence is rather annoying to keep watching Fred, you should seriously get this guy, perfect fit, dominant and powerful tank who scores real well, instant improvement:

I know it's not about being Italian, but not all of them worship the same style as nearly everyone worldwide seems to think. I don't think many would have gone with a 2-4-4 like Gasperini did against Valencia, which is why I like him a lot. Genoa really don't have many stand out stars, but they produce a lot of results and are entertaining to watch IMO (and he finally managed to get the best out of Thiago Motta).
About Man City. Mancini needs to sort the defense out first, and I think he'll carry on using some techniques Hughes used. It's hard to predict how he'll do though, because he has a lot available to him but little time to produce results. I don't think he's the one to take them to major trophies though.
