Juventus Director Giuseppe Marotta was interviewed by Sky Sport where he made the following statement regarding the Bianconeri's dealing in the transfer window.

"Morata? We've met with Florentino Perez but we didn't speak about Morata so we postponed that discussion until next week when we'll have a new meeting. This meeting served to clarify Morata's position as well as evaluate other opportunities with Real Madrid. If we're optimistic? Morata is a player who we believe in but Real have the option which hangs over him like the Sword of Damocles. We're looking to bring him home yet again. We will take the players wishes into consideration, which makes us proud, but then we have to see what Real's interests are too."

The meeting next week could also involve other Real Madrid players: "Meeting to discuss Morata is part of the dynamics of the transfer market and maybe other interesting situations could arise. Mascherano and Andre Gomes? They are two very interesting players but it's two difficult deals. I can say that we will remodel the squad with few deals but instead they will be of high quality" Marotta concluded.

The quantity over quality days are finito :agree: Especially with how limited the squad size is becoming.

That makes sense. The team isn't a work in progress anymore. It is about improving the team, and I'd be more than happy if we sell some auxiliary players like Pereyra & Asamoah, sign some players on frees (Alves), and then use our cash flow to buy 1-2 really good players.

Jese isn't high quality - honestly it HAS to be either Isco or James - whether it gets done is another story, but there is no way we are looking at players who we don't even know if they will win a spot with the team - Jese has that risk.

Jese plays 3 seasons for the 1st team so yes

4 CBs + Mascherano would be enough anyway. i just like Varane but he will probably go to United or PSG if he leaves
Pretty sure Mascherano will only play midfield. Its one of his reasons for considering a new team.

He's the best defensive midfielder in the world. Why would he be in the defence when you allready got the best central back duo or trio in the world ?

Read he was rated a bit more in Castilla, but he is still just 18 or recently turned 19 with 3-4 games with the first team only. Lacks the physique of Morata but seems more of a gunho goalgetter type then Alvaro.

Doubt very much we are interested. Our focus should be on Isco or James or at worse Kovacic thats stagnated.

There is no point looking at Danilo right now.
James is like twice as expensive as we can afford

Italian football might just be what Isco needs to become efficient, but there is a significant chance he'll be a huge waste of money.

Which teams are linked with James at the moment @Mark ?

Controversial statement : If James Rodriguez would come to juventus, he'll have twice as much chance to win the ballon d'or as Pogba, and he'll leave a bigger mark then Zidane did.

I have a funny feeling we're going to get Ibra, if Morata leaves. A few reasons:
-The man clearly wants to go back to Italy.
-He has played for Allegri in the past
-Raiola indicated "there could be a surprise"
-Buffon retires in two years, and we are clearly trying to get him a Champions League, and Ibra hasn't won a champions league. He could take a reduced salary for the chance to win a champions league.
-There is no transfer fee involved

I'm not saying that I like it, especially because of how strong of a locker-room personality he is, but I think it is a real option.

Yeah, but if we discussing any players with Real, his should be brought up atleast.
We spend 40million on Dybala

80-Morata = 50 million.

hmmm

Juventus board made a statement that we will not sign Zlatan 2 months ago, and they were very clear about it.

Marotta said this "We will continue to focus on young players. Ibrahimovic comes with a massive financial commitment, and no Italian club could support it."

If Ibrahimovic takes a pay-cut, that could change the approach. That being said, would Ibra take the paycut?

Thats what not the quote i meant.

Some board member said that Zlatan is a closed chapter and we will not reopen it. That had nothing to do with the financial aspect.

Yes he will but he is also our 5th CB option for the 352 in an injury crisis, so he might play 4-5 times a year there. Starting DM is ofcourse where he will play 95% of the time if he comes

His stats are also very similar to Moratas in Castilla at the age of 19. but I doubt Real will let him go, they seem to deal better with their youth players nowadays.

Agree about Danilo, would be overkill at the moment. If he stays at Real maybe he could become an option next season

If we had a chance for Danilo, we wouldnt have signed Alves. We signed him cause there isnt a talent worth investing in, and Danilo was not possible.
People need to remember how good this team is. If we sign a young player, he needs to have the talent to fight for a place in the team in the future, nothing less.

One thing i noticed in the CL final. Felipe Luiz, is an amazingly good, and incredibly underrated fullback. When he went off, suddenly Danilo was all over the place.

Dont hope for Danilo for now, he could very well be on the way back

I haven't heard one but if he's on the market you bet EPL clubs would jump on it.
