I was surprised myself. I don't see him getting much playing time, but maybe he'll surprise everyone - he certainly has the talent, it's just a question of motivation and fitness.

so benitez understood that you cant win with basketball player up front...
Given their recent form, I'd say that they certainly can. I think their biggest problem is that they way they play means that the midfield doesn't support the forwards well enough. Fowler won't change that.

anyone over here who likes spurs?
im been very impressed by them since martin jol took over.they're the only epl team that i like.unlike everton's short term, temporary revival last season,i think the spurs revival is a long term one.
I like Spurs. They're the only team in the Prem that I actually like. They have a very strong squad with a lot of youth in it. King, Dawson, Carrick, Jenas, Lennon and Defoe should be around for a long time to come so Tottenham can look forward to success in the future. Michael Carrick is my favourite EPL player. He's an amazing passer of the ball and Aaron Lennon is an exciting prospect to say the least.

I don't think motivation will be a problem, I read somewhere that Robbie had already met Rafael Benitez during a celebration in a pub some time back and the entire pub of fans started chanting "Sign Robbie, Sign Robbie" and sang You'll Never Walk Alone all night long. I'd be amazed if he found motivation a problem, with fans like that.

That and the fact that he's a Kop favourite, of course. Never been a fan of Crouch, personally.

Highly unlikely IMO, Newcastle will be unwilling to let him go for anything less than what they paid which Pool was unwilling to match just 6 months ago, plus with Fowler it'd probably be a surplus of attacking personnel considering that Benitez likes to play just one up front.

Liverpool probably have the best fans in the world.
