DAVID PRUTTON will receive a minimum 10-game ban this week after his assault on referee Alan Wiley.

Southampton's England Under-21 midfielder lost his head when he went to attack linesman Paul Norman after being given a second yellow card for the shocking foul on Robert Pires that left Arsenal fearing a broken ankle.

Prutton, who deserved to be dismissed earlier for an even worse foul on Mathieu Flamini, pushed Wiley twice in the chest as he tried to get to Norman, before being dragged away by Saints boss Harry Redknapp and marched down the tunnel.

And with Redknapp admitting Prutton deserves everything he can get, the FA will use their fast-track procedures for incidents beyond match officials' jurisdiction to administer swift justice.

Prutton is automatically banned for tomorrow's FA Cup 5th round replay at Brentford.

But he will face a serious misconduct charge on Thursday and could be banned for the rest of the season.

Paolo Di Canio received an 11-match ban for pushing over ref Paul Alcock seven years ago while playing for Sheffield Wednesday and Redknapp is expecting similar.

Redknapp said: "I can't defend people when they do things like that. He's going to get a long ban."

David Prutton deserves a medal! finally Pires is paid-back for all his diving and cheating antics!!
Thats sick. you obviously didnt see the tackle. it was really, really brutal.

No wonder you got a level 7, you must of ticked the box where ' do you believe that some people have got it coming to them' and ' do you take pleasure in others misery' :D

Yeah, Buffon is a genius to comment on a country, in which he has never played in...however of course...all goals in Serie A, are all super goals, goals that are regular considered the greatest goals ever, and of course it could only be done by Serie A teams, because all other teams in the WORLD are completely overrated and have such bad teams...why do we never play in the Champions League when Italian teams are like so better then the rest it is embarrasing...

It is not like this, Calcio is a better tactical League than EPL, in EPL ya might see MORE goals scored in a crapy way makes ya feel that the deffenders have learn about football yesterday... this kind of thing happen in calcio but surely not that offten...

:blah:

Of course, because there are no 'scrappy' goals in Serie A right? Or do smaller teams score those kind of goals? Do you see other teams goals? Look at Shuan Wright-Phillips goals for Citeh...Every single one of them is class.

Saying Serie A is better 'tactically', Of course it is, doesnt take a genius to come to that conclusion...but that is what also makes Serie A boring sometimes, no other teams has a chance, in Serie A, could a team beat the team at the top twice? Citeh beat Chelsea twice, Portsmouth beat United, Arsenal have lost etc etc...why is that? Cause they take risks, and actually TRY to play football...

Dan: I did tick the first box...but really I am not worthy of Level 7...although I did tick the box saying would you assasinate someone...Malcolm Glazer is in my sight!! Other then that I am an angel!

:D I know, I love that saying! Plus it is actually the right saying, because Citeh are a northern club...(and they dont have any non-Manchester fans...)

As for Pires, I hate him, more then any other player ever, and it was a joke what I said about Prutton, but he did derserve some retribution, he is a cheat and a diver, and deserves no sympathy at all.

Oh, and watch out Chelsea now, this is where it gets seriously pressured for them...especially now that Ruud is back, to continue his partnership with Rooney

Van Nistelrooy and Rooney have started 10 games as a partnership, scoring 17 goals between them.

the thing about jokes which you dont really understand is that they are supposed to be funny, not just plain offensive.

Normally I wouldnt of said anything like that, I really am a sensitive soul, its just that I intensely despise Pires, which brings out the worst in me...sorry.

Totti represents a hot tempered, whiny, loudmouth spitting aggressive animal.

He is an absolute disgrace to italian football. Its amazing what the Azzuri have to put up with because of his footballing ability.

Stamping on Ramelow? Spitting on Poulson? come on. This all happened not less then a year ago.

I have never doubted that Totti has his problems, those things I dont like at all, but to overlook everything about him because of this is just wrong...he should of won the Ballon D'Or!! He deserved it more then Sheva did!
