Since the topic is on Goetze and Virtual is here I have a few questions:
1.) Why is Bierhoff apparently urging Italian clubs to sign him and not telling Spanish/English clubs?
2.) Realistically, what major clubs would "need" him? Real/City already seemed stacked for players in his role, same for Barca?
3.) What is being said in Germany about him leaving and why? Do Dortmund need to sell?
4.) Would this be in January or Summer? What are the rumors saying?
1) i can only guess that bierhoff has still fond memories of italy and so he would probably like götze to have the same good experience in italy. i don't think anyone in england or spain would be interested in the opinion of bierhoff. he spend the most successful time in italy so its probably there where he would be most recogned as football guy with some knowledge
2) in german there is only one major club and that is bayern ... the problem with dortmund at the moment is that it is pretty similar to arsenal in the past i think. i think that players might look good in that system but might pretty much fail to show the same level of performance elsewhere. i am not saying that götze is of bad quality, but the system dortmund play does pretty much nullify his lack of physique. i bet giovinco would also be flourishing at dortmund, because the fast passing game with pretty few time on the ball (per player) does prevent their players from getting muscled of the ball. of course götze is not as small as giovinco (götze is 5"9 or something) but it remains to be seen how he plays in another system which demands more physical contribution. bayern actually don't need götze because they have enough talent and every other club in germany would be a step down from bvb/dortmund... i can not judge the other clubs outside germany who would need a quick trequartista/second striker style midfielder actually
3) götze is really a humble kid and i don't see him leaving if dortmund achieve consecutive champions league qualification (which seems götzes focus right now). dortmund don't need to sell and his contract runs until 2014 so there is no chance to get him on the cheap for now.
4) there are actually no rumours of him leaving... when rumors pop up, it's about clubs interested in him, but none of them have any foundation to say götze would want to leave.
