Getting Dzeko makes much more sense than Jovetic since he's a CF, which is what we need.

He's also less of a risk than Van Persie as he is younger and doesn't have his injury history.

I'll say it again, you want Jovetic over a CF based on fapping, not on reason.

Jovetic' injury history is non-existent... Yes, he tore his ACL and afterwards had some normal muscular injuries because Fiorentina counted on him way too much, way too soon. Look at how slowly we integrated Quags... It's only normal Jovetic had a small fallback, but before that he never had any real injuries. So that is much more important as far as his "injury history" goes...

To be fair, its not as if we've had a player like Jojo since Del Piero. We're missing a smart SS of Jojo's calibre as much as we're missing a top CF. We lack class in both areas while all we have is Vucinic and Matri to fill them who are equally mediocre.

We'll be just fine with 15G11A and Mirko in the SS department. We can always get Jovetic next year if Giovinco flops.

Well. I have higher ambitions, and want a better center forward than Dzeko. I don't rate Dzeko as highly as some of you do, and while he is a good player, he isn't someone that can do shit on his own, or create something out of nothing. Jovetic is magic, and yes, I prefer players like JoJo to guys like Dzeko, so perhaps I'm leaning towards Jovetic based on sentiment and romanticism as opposed to reason.

I don't consider Dzeko a top player (doesn't mean he isn't a good player), and would be disappointed if he is our star signing (not to mention that he'd command massive wages, wages I feel he doesn't/wouldn't deserve).

Jovetic might not be available next season, but Dzeko will. I don't see that many top teams leaping to sign City's 4'th choice striker.

The infamous "star signing"

What is important is to get the right player because he suits our needs, not simply a "star" for the sake of it.

We need to score goals next season and playing Jovetic as a CF or using him as a SS and Vucinic/Pazzini as CF simply won't cut it.

I'd much rather have Dzeko-Giovinco/Vucinic.
