Any fans of his genre?Im a big Jamiroquai fan,but most people seem to think the genre is gay.Personally i enjoy it a lot.Not dark and depressive..its actaully quite enjoyable.Plus the 70's discotheques, psychdelic lighting and bell bottoms were the the greatest things man ever created!.Yes i know Jamiroquai isnt a 70's band.

I wish i was born in the 50's:cry:

I also like Jamiroquai....and much of todays house music beats derives from classic disco

I was pretty young in the 70's but I do remember the music

The downfall of this genre in the late 70s was that it was excessive, insipid, and vacuous. Good for when you want to get stupid or need to clean the bathtub. But even that grows tiresome after a while.

Though, btw, I do like a couple of Jamiroquai tunes, though I wouldn't consider them "disco" per se. Not overplayed here in the States as they were in the UK, though -- which could make anybody tired of them.

Jamiroquai is definatley not classical Disco. But I think they're one of the few exponents of the genre that still make really good music. They obviously have traces of Funk etc in their music.

A lot of insiders like to call Jamiroquai acid jazz, which is basically a fusion of funk, soul, disco & jazz. The groove of most Jamoroquai tunes are very funk based, so it's obviously very related to disco. Jay Kay himself has told he is most influenced by disco by the way.

I play bass so I love disco and funk, and so must everyone else who thinks that rhythm is a very important aspect of music.

massive, massive fan of jamiroquai, got every album, the video discography an some exclusive interviews, been trying to find out if hes going on tour anytime soon.

and his early stuff like the return of the space cowboy album cant be matched by his newer albums, as muchas i like them, his old stuff up till travelling without moving, was audio gold.

i grew up in the 90's but always loved his songs especially the disco tracks as a young kid. the remix of space cowboy is quality.
