I'm certain we'd all be going crazy over this player if he had both attacking support from midfield and a good tactician behind him. The amount of effort he puts in really is admirable when you look at the way EVERYONE else plays.

I thought all Brazilians were lazy and went to parties every day. :seven:

Yeah, I think Diego is starting to settle in and get used to Serie A.

If only there was a discernible gameplan, the team might benefit from Diego's presence.

In my opinion Diego's problem is that he is not finding enough spaces he needs to run with the ball and do his magic. In Serie A, especially the 'smaller' teams focus mainly on the defense. Sometimes you can see that the opponent is defending with 9 men. That's why he has to have someone else beside him like Camoranesi and/or Giovinco which could give him a hand in that regard.

But all in all, you can't call this guy a flop. Every game it seems that he is getting used more and more of how Serie A teams defend.

Also he seems very good physically. I mean, he must be with all the tackles he receive ever single match.

Diego is like me, says Zidane

Zinedine Zidane has revealed how he feels Diego's first season for Juventus is like his own back in 1996.

The legendary Frenchman arrived in Turin aged 24 amid great expectation after four excellent seasons for Bordeaux.

He struggled to adapt in his first year in Italy, much like Diego after his €25m transfer from Werder Bremen in the summer.

“I played badly for the first three months. Everyone wanted to get rid of me, but luckily there was a certain Marcello Lippi who always gave me his trust and protection,” Zidane explained.

“It takes time and patience with a new foreigner. But Diego's worth isn't up for discussion. He is a great player.”

Zidane was then asked if he often heard from Lippi and knew anything about reports of his possible return to Juventus after the World Cup.

“He hasn't said anything to me about his future, but I think that one day he will become the President: he is an intelligent man.”

Turning his attention to Juventus's current crisis, Zidane said: “It's not an easy moment and I am very upset. The link between the club and me is strong: Juventus made me great and taught me how to win.

“Juve is Juve: everyone would like to go there. And it's wonderful that there is always a little bit of France in the club: Platini, myself, Deschamps, Trezeguet and now the President, Blanc.

“If I had to say one thing to Ciro, it would be to remain calm and concentrate on his objectives. Winning the Europa League would be important. It would allow Juve to play in the European Super Cup. Hopefully against Real…”
